Like Johnny said, relax. Here's the bottom line.
DR is a very gifted athlete ( I said athlete not QB)
He is a dangerous running QB.
He is a pathetic passing QB.
DR has been exposed more than once in his career as being a great QB.
As long as he has the ball in his hands he's a threat to score.
ND's defense is very fast and disciplined. The speed and discipline made DR play to his weakness.
Most scUM fans are too blind to see his weaknesses and can't stand the thought that ND's defense is one of the best in the country right now.

Anyone denying that DR isn't a fantastic COLLEGE football player, is mistaken.

The dude can play. No, he's not a great passer(not even a good one)...but he can turn a game around faster than anyone else on the field.

We just played lights out D and didn't allow him to break one.

It's that simple. Denard is still a helluva football player, and ND has a great D. You can have both.

Umm, sure total yards matter. As mentioned earlier, every defensive coach game planning against him know he is going to be 90+% of their offense, and he still puts up big yardage running and passing (albeit on good to worse defenses). Elite defenses can shut him down by making him do the latter instead of the former, but a QB who can run for 1,500 yds and pass for 2,000 yds in a BCS conference team's season is a challenge to defend (even for a good defense). Same reason that RGIII and Cam Newton were dangerous the last two years, and Tebow throughout his career.

He is not an elite throwing QB (no one is debating that he is), but as a player he does not 'suck'. Even as a RB playing QB he doesn't 'suck' either - he just isn't nearly good enough of a thrower to keep elite defenses honest. He isn't good enough, or solidly built enough, to carry a team through a 12 game regular schedule, a conference championship game, and NC championship. Along that route he will meet a defense that can expose his bad judgement and erratic throwing, but that is hardly 'sucking'

What? Who says he sucks? I just compared him to Vince Young, a shoo-in for the CFB Hall of Fame...You must be responding to someone else.

I agree with you. And of course there are differences, in schedule, and of course Hoke did not have to follow Ty Willingham. (Let us not get into another personalities conflict, if you look at the won/lost and expectations level, CW took over a program in free fall while BH still had some tera firma, like Denard for instance. Also hiring a competent Defensive Coordinator that could work with the talent was a big plus, too.

I think he disagrees with her point and is calling her on it. If anything, he's treating her like any other poster on here and is arguing with her. Your glass doll treatment of her and constant "white knight" attempts to protect her from big-bad LA is more in line with misogyny than anything you're complaining about.

Also, NDinLA has a daughter. He seems to be raising her exceptionally and has shown that he enjoys sharing football with her. I doubt that he would limit her interests to gender-based stereotypes. I think you probably owe him an apology. Sexism, like racism, is not a trivial thing to accuse someone of, even over the internet.

I am glad you did bring up having daughters. I have four. I have brought them up to fend for themselves. The older ones all can drive a stick and check their oil. Bogs-- Misogyny is the hatred of women. You can say whatever you want about LA needing to be in control. You can cite the number of ways that you are an excellent father (I'm sure you are). But you cannot show me any example of LA sexually objectifying kissme, nor can you show me any post where he degrades her opinion on the idea that she is a woman. He did none of those things. I've seen his Jennifer Aniston post, it fit the metaphor he was trying to make, and I see nothing in it that would make someone suspect sexism. LA was going at her argument as a poster, and it's beyond me that anyone would think that he was treating her any differently than normal. This place has taken a definite downturn since I joined – largely due to the wit, wisdom and fire of Neutered. The man may be tortured and a bit crazy, but he is honest ... and a great "keep me on my toes" playmate.

I understand that filling the shoes of a moderator on a board such as this is a tall order and difficult task. However, I've seen too much of a blurring of the line between moderated poster and posting moderator with too much power.

I have no qualms about accepting my role as "grammar hammer" since I know little about the nuts and bolts of football. I do find the lack of self-moderated versus the level of externally moderated behavior distressing, disturbing and disruptive. [How's that for angry and annoying alliteration?]

I take blame for the institution of the language filter that was instituted. Hell, even my own first name was verboten for a stretch. Isn't it curious that a mod takes refuge in that policy to be abusive with impunity?

This is so far out there and so incredibly wrong, that there are just no words nor time in the day that would justify a response like I'd REALLY want to give.
