I think some people are lower on Deeb simply because of the 3 stars he has and he isnt as versatile as the others. The other 4 LBs can could play most of the LB positions, but Deeb is pretty set at one position (that doesnt make him bad though) I think he will be a very solid ILB.

This. Deeb is just a MLB through and through. He's a good one though.

I got a chance to see Mike play tonight. I was pleasantly surprised to see him move in space in coverage and change directions. He was more fluid than I expected.
He was in on plenty of stops from his MLB position.
When his team got up by three touchdowns they put him at LDE and had him rush off the edge. That possession he had 1 1/2 sacks and looked good off the edge. He switched to RDE on the next possession and looked good there too.
His competition was weak tonight though.
He is non stop though with a high motor he's just constant even when on the sidelines. He seemed to have that MLB intensity, he was vocal and demonstrative. He has a good frame that can add more weight and he looks like he'll be a player at ND.

Sony had some nice long runs tonight too. He would kill it in the spread.

Per ISD, he and Sony Michel won't be making the trip to Chicago this weekend.

have this feeling that he will have the most playing time at the end of next year out of all the freshman linebackers

IMO it will still be Jaylon Smith even if he only at 230 ish because he is crazy athletic.

um... can you please explain your thought process in coming to that conclusion?

Its called a gut feeling and he's a physically ready hard nosed inside linebacker where depth at that position will allow him a chance to play; thats my reasoning still have a problem?

I don't see anything wrong with your prediction. It is exactly that a prediction.

It isn't like everyone was betting on Farley being Slaughter's backup by sophmore year. Things happen that people don't expect.

With 5 lb's coming in one of them is going to rise above, and in ISpartan's opinion it will be Deeb.

I also want to add that while Deeb may not be the highest rated or offer the highest upside he does seem like a kid that would take the summer workout the coaches provide very serious and show up in excellent shape.

This will get freshmen on the field faster than raw talent as it shows the coaches can trust you, which we all know is most important when coach is making a decision on playing time.

I'm not going to make any playing time predictions, but I really like Deeb a lot. He seems like the exact kind of kid that exceeds his ranking, because part of what I think will make him a good player is not easily quantified by scouting services.

Have a feeling that if all of our LB commits were in a steel cage match, Deeb would win.

Listen I am a huge fan of Michael Deeb. But your telling me he will find playing time over jarrettt grace, Alex Anzalone, Carlo, fox, Kendall Moore and Joe Schmidit? Not sure if your serious or not. I am not tryin to be a dick but if Deeb doesn't redshirt we will have problems.

Spartan. Domer2 I agree with you and everything you said but I think it would be best if he redshirted

I have to agree with GB on this because deeb is going to be looking for playing time between two positions ( mike and will ). If he is on the field it is because fox, calabrese, and grace have dropped the ball or are injured which would be disastrous, IMO. Now I think in time he'll be a player no doubt but with as much as they've talked up grace I doubt it

No I said he'd win a steel cage match. Also, the guy your post was directed at was talking about our LB commits.

It's not far fetched to think Deeb might get some playing time. Teams are always in need of special team guys and usually those tough hard nosed players with something to prove step up in those instances.
