Any new info on L.J. Or Cole?

(Looking at you GB and Ironman)

Consensus seems to be that ND likes where it is with Moore - we just have to wait and see what he decides to do after sleeping on it and talking with his parents. Not too optimistic on Luke - pretty sure we still sit behind Texas and Oklahoma. If we are behind on any prospect after an OV to ND, 99.9% of the time we are not getting the kid.

Jamel James is a big time back, and to be honest fits right in with what ND needs out of a rb. Clement/Folston are good, but I honestly dont see them as any better than Mahone. ND has Amir for 3 more years, Mahone for 4, and ND locks down a rb in 2014 and ND is in great shape. Now if ND has spots at the end of the this year sure you take Khalfani. But, I really havent seen too many 5'8 kids succeed at RB nor slot. ND is in perfect shape with the mob, and i honestly dont think they could have done a better job recruiting up to this point.

Agree with Turning Point other than Folston, I believe he has the ability to be a big time back for us with the added dimention of a slash slot option and offers much more than Mahone in versatility, I think he is going to be a stud. Hopefully we can get a visit but I also agree James is a beast, I am stoked about that kid.

Not TP, but I will say we end with a pass rusher / DE, a CB, and then punter / best available. Hopefully best available.

Do you really see us closing with a punter (vs say a walk-on tryout) with all that talent still on the board and Brindza potentially able to handle those duties as well?

Not saying I agree with it, but there is a lot of talk that the staff is / was focusing on adding a punter this cycle.

I agree with the rest but this part is wrong especially in college. Barry Sanders, Ray Rice, Lamichael James, Dion Lewis, Chris Thompson, Chris Rainey, Maurice Jones-Drew, etc. That is what I turned up after a 2 minute google search, I am sure there are more. Plenty of small backs can succeed especially at the college level. It is more difficult as a pro though.

Don't get me wrong, wasn't inferring this was your preference. I guess I was kind of asking if you thought the walk-on thing was an option, depending on who comes knocking at the 11th hour?

I think we might take a scholarship punter if we have a spot for one, but I think the staff would prefer to use our remaining spots on DBs, a pass rusher, and/or a RB.

I would hope so. I mean, if (I know this is a BIG if) Alexander or Luke decide on NSD-eve that they wanna come, I'd hate to see us have to turn them away because we took a commitment from a punter.

There are also other high profile names that will come out of the woodwork if we continue to put up Ws.

They would make room for one of those kids by not accepting one of the 5th years back.

I don't think that will happen unless Alexander or Luke pulls a Gunner Kiel (commits elsewhere and then changes his mind). We won't accept a punter's commitment as long we feel we have a shot at someone who fills one of our more pressing needs. If we have two spots left and Alexander and Luke go to signing day and we are still in the thick of it, no punter.

Maybe, but maybe not. We might have to commit to the 5th years before signing day ... that's what happened with Goodman last year (and as it turned out, thank God we brought him back, or we'd be even thinner at WR). Plus, we may not have the flexibility to do that, depending on how many incoming frosh we have at that point. We NEED at least one of the ILBs and at least one of the linemen, preferably both of each.

I was a pretty loud critic of bringing Goodman back. Thank God Kelly is smarter than this idiot. Goodman has been the definition of clutch this season.

Aldaquin Muhammad has to be a priority, as well as locking down a CB. Other than that, it's all sweet gravy from there.

Not to mention Darren Sproles, Warrick Dunn, Emmitt Smith, Priest Holmes, Frank Gore, ... off the top of my head those are all guys less than 5'10" who are/were dominant in the NFL.

It'd be sweet to have a shifty back like a Jacquizz Rodgers type running around behind the mammoth O-Line we are going to have. He'd be impossible to spot/tackle.

This is basically the only conclusion one can come to at this point. Muhammad and CB studs!

This is question to any and all. What prospects that aren't talked about frequently do you believe we have a chance with if we continue to play good football? Good equals 9-11 wins.

WR Treadwell if we win 11+ games in my opinion.

I think we might have a shot at Priest Willis. Pure guess here, but he did say in his interview he wanted to visit and when asked about what he liked about Notre Dame he kind of said "It's Notre Dame.".
