Nope. I know of two. The town in the movie is called Du Lac, a reference to our beloved University of Notre Dame du Lac. The other one I've heard is that the name of the Prince, Lord Farquad, is a reference to Carroll Hall, as it is far away from the rest of campus. I'd love to hear any others.

I heard they were all just coincidences. But other ones are Lord Farquad's Castle is built just like the Hesburg Library and Shrek is made in the likeness of a professor at Notre Dame.

I would say you don't have to make the questions impossible just hard enough that some people would have to look it up. If that were the case I believe the hecklers wouldn't really take the time to a)buy the app and b)actually take the time to look it up. For instance I would ask something simple, but challenging like who is number 6 on ND's current team? A question like this most ND fans would get, but i doubt an uneducated SCum or scUM fan would get it.

I think I'm going to play a few videos and have 'who did what' and 'what happens next' type questions.

It's going to be all free, but I highly doubt heckler types would be able to identify what happens after seeing the first 5 seconds of this or even just seeing a screenshot with the score/opponent/time left:

I think I'm going to show a few seconds of a video and just have 'what happens next' and 'who did what' type questions..

It's all free, but I agree that the heckler types won't take a lot of time trying to figure it out and they surely won't be able to see the first 5 seconds (or even just a screen shot of these) and know exactly what happens with names and all that...

In regard to the Shrek article --

The only thing I can't figure out is that they dismiss it because no producers/animators/writers were ND alumni. No source. Of course, the entire thing is predicated on four producers being ND alumni. Also no source (I have scoured the internet).

I don't know, it seems like a huge coincidence if it isn't true. Carroll Hall isn't called far quad, that entire part of the campus is called that. Of course he's going to put on a serious face and say they didn't put the dome on there... copyright infringement anyone? Just because he oversaw production doesn't mean he caught every easter-egg his coproducers/animators/writers put into the movie.

I was told by admissions to say it while I was a tour guide... so I tend to believe it's true. Why would they lie about people being alumni? Oh well.

Speaking of alumni, Condalezza went to ND for graduate school... not sure why all the recruits are wow'd when they see her at Stanford. She went here too, even more recently and specifically to learn about what she does now.

They were thrown at Syracuse players I know that. Ay snowballs thrown towards ND players at first were just to mess around. I forget what Irish team was introduced during a timeout(maybe the golf team?) but they were getting snowballs thrown at them too.

I remember snow balls being an issue at the Syracuse game and some people writing some articles about being dissapointed witht the student section.. But, I don't know if they were actually thrown at the players.

I laughed my *** off at that. His the trooper right in the hat. The entire section laughed, until the trooper turned and started coming up in the stands after the kid...a that point everyone started pointed him out. Awesome.
