As a greyshirt do you have to pay for school?? I don't see top players passing up scholarships to other schools if they do have to pay...

The difference between a gray shirt and a preferred walk-on is that there is no scholarship promised to a walk-on.

A gray shirt is told that if he comes to that school, pays for the 1st year tuition, he'll be given a scholarship the next year. Often, they never get them and then end up academically ineligible or removed from the team.

A preferred walk-on means that he's held to essentially the same standards as other football players for admission, but has to pay tuition. Sometimes they earn a scholarship for a year or two if the numbers work out. Bobby Burger, Mike Anello, and Chris Salvi come to mind (except they were just walk-ons, not preferred walk-ons I believe).

IMO Staff must think we have a Great shot at Folston if they were to turn down Clement and Muhammad.

Before the weekend the word was that we wouldn't accept a commitment from Khalfani or Clement until we get Folston out and know where we stand with him. Don't know whether that's been communicated to the players though.

I hope it's not true that we had to tell Juwaan and Clement that we can't accept their commitments. Just makes me feel bad for them, especially Juwaan. Nice kid who just couldn't get out here in time (or has he visited before? Not sure now ...)

If we strike out on Folston, do you guys think Clement will still be open??

That interview makes it seem like he sees himself as a #1 guy.

IMO its Folston or bust unless another big time back appears on our board.

Khalfani seems to have the high interest in ND to be ok with getting Folston's sloppy seconds if Folston decides ND isn't for him. But maybe you mean we shouldn't use another schollie on a RB unless its a top guy. That might be right ... Now that we have Hunter, maybe take two DBs and a DE and have done.

Grey shirt era.

One could come of with a not-so-insane scenario in which Robinson and Hunter say "hey my dad is worth a centillion dollars, keep two more 5th-years for 2013 and we'll pay while we 'redshirt.'"

Feeling like Moore could pop after going home, talking with his parents and sleeping on it. Just my opinion, but I guess he's next.

IMO the way we finish this class will be:
Alquadin, LJ, and Cole Luke

And I would be very happy with that.

Moore is headed home to talk with his folks and I wouldnt be surprised if he commits soon afterwards but thats not a guarantee, he continues to say he wants to take visits. Luke is a long shot in my opinion, had nice things to say but doesnt appear like he was blown away based on his feedback to a couple of sites, however he isnt much for media attention so never know

I would love this. It seems at least possible.

Hope Moore pops soon. He's a great fit for us: talented and versatile.

Nothing to smh at. I never even endorsed it.

Besides, Notre Dame does not officially redshirt so it'd be impossible.

But you're kidding yourself if you wouldn't like two more of the fifth year guys. That's what makes it "not-so-insane" when combined with the mountains of cash these kids come from.

smh at reading comprehension.
