Big throw by Dayne there. He can definitely chuck it. Needs to be more consistent, which is hard to ask of him considering his whole career has been anything but consistent for him.
Dayne still confused
Aaaaaaand Dayne Crist fumbles the ball in the redzone while Kansas threatens to make it a one possession game.
Is that our Darius Walker doing the post game interview with Patterson?!?!?! That's awesome!
He's their sideline reporter. I did a double take last week when I saw his name down in the lower left corner.
KU can run the ball. Can Dayne throw?
I love that clip. Let me revise...
Can Dayne throw consistently? He's currently hitting on 52.5% (against South Dakota State and Rice).
... wish he could find a way to get into the end zone.
Dayne Crist led the Jayhawks (1-2, 0-1) with 303 yards passing, but he was also intercepted once, fumbled as he was heading into the end zone in the fourth quarter, and missed several third-down throws that prevented Kansas from capitalizing on the TCU turnovers.
77 yds rushing??? 303 passing[/url]
Kansas today looked a lot like ND during the Weis years ... racking up yards but not necessarily points. I remember watching ND under Weis and thinking that something was broken with our offense but not quite knowing what. Had the same feeling watching KU today.
Disappointing overall. I was really hoping to see Dayne start looking like a real quarterback today. I'll say that there were a few plays where his receivers could have helped him out and didn't, but still ... wish he could find a way to get into the end zone.
It doesn't really need to be said, but I'll say it anyhow: Former Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame five-star quarterback Dayne Crist is a major bust. At first I gave him the benefit of the doubt because of his injuries (torn ACL and ruptured patella tendon at Notre Dame) but now that's no longer an excuse. He had his moments in South Bend under Charlie Weis and showed some promise, but now that he's with Weis at Kansas, he's brutal. This shows how interesting it is to rank quarterbacks. In 2008, the top nine pro-style quarterbacks were Blaine Gabbert (stud), Crist (dud), Mike Glennon (more stud than dud), Andrew Luck (stud), Star Jackson (dud), Landry Jones (stud), Jacory Harris (dud), Jordan Jefferson (dud) and Tyler Wilson (stud).
KU up 17-13 over NIU in 3rd Q.
Only KU listed in stats is Jordan Lynch 19/23 113 yds, 1 TD 0 Int. He's also rushed 15 times for 85 yds.
Crist is 9/20 143yds 0 tds 0 int.
Lynch is the QB for NIU
Touchdown NIU!
You don't have to be so excited about it. Sheesh.
Think about it positively now Crist has a chance to be the hero.

It's been edited.
Just an awful game from KU. Dayne was a piece of that.
