I stated a while back in another thread I thought USC was capable of a national championship if they stayed healthy. Looks like the health issue and loss of depth are biting Troy in the rear. If Matt Barkley cannot complete a deep pass, that bodes well for defense. I wonder if he is injured.

USC's Brian Baucham hospitalized because of breathing issue - latimes.com

By Gary Klein, Los Angeles Times
September 25, 2012

USC defensive back Brian Baucham remains hospitalized because of an unspecified breathing issue that occurred after the fifth-year senior played in Saturday's game against California, a person close to the situation said Monday.
Baucham, from Torrance, was in intensive care and on a ventilator Saturday and Sunday, but he was removed from the device Monday and his condition was improved, said the person, who asked not to be identified because of the sensitivity of the situation.
Baucham, 22, played against Hawaii and Syracuse but not in the Trojans' loss at Stanford on Sept. 15.
The 5-foot-11, 170-pound Baucham made three tackles in the Trojans' 27-9 victory over Cal at the Coliseum. He was tended to on the sideline during the game and was reportedly taken to the hospital by ambulance.

Will be at this game.. two years ago was in Vegas at the time but not this year. Does anyone know if they still do the pep rally and bring the bookstore out to a hotel in Anaheim that was real fun when they did that.. I got Tim Brown to sign a football when he was there

For a team with Matt Barkley, Robert Woods, Marqise Lee, Xavier Grimble, Randall Telfer, and Nelson Agholor in their passing game, you'd think they'd stretch the field more. Kiffin calls more receiver screens than Charlie Weis.

Speaking of receiver screens, I loved the play-call where we faked the screen then went to the endzone to the would-be-blocking WR. Golson has to hit that quicker, but it was a good play. Another trick play I'm waiting to see is based on the shotgun formation, quick pitch/shovel to the back running a sweep. Fake that, and have the slot guy come underneath, sweeping the opposite way (Neal, please).

Anyone watching USC-Arizona? I have family who went to Zona so it's a double whammy for me against the Trojans.

Rodriguez is scheming well against the defense and offense... Kiffin gambled on 4th and 2 on the Zona 10 and failed.

I think we can take some tips from how Arizona is playing for sure.

I've been flipping back and forth. Mixed emotions. I know it'd be better for ND if USC won until we whoop their @$$ess...but it feels so good to watch them and Kitten lose.

Haha, just noticed the "kitten" auto correct. I'll leave it alone.

Think it will be better for us if they beat Oregon (assuming we win tonight).

Well...we should be able to run the ball on USC without any trouble. That's for sure.

I'm so happy USC lost, even if it hurts our SOS. Now, if Oregon and ND beats them, 4 losses! Haha.

I'd think they'd take a pretty big recruiting hit from that.

Just got finished watching the entire AZ-SC game. If we happen to lose tonight, it will hurt less because of what USC did today, and how they are eating their own over there on their rivals paysite. So much awesome over there right now!

They are calling Kiffy-boy their version of Charlie Weis LOL. Love it love it love it.

And I will take credit for saying before the year that they would lose to Oregon and get upset by a Pac 12 team like AZ, cause that's what they always do. Throw in a loss to Stanford already, and this season has just been a blessing so far. Go Ducks!!!!

The 10/27/12 Sagarin Rankings are up.

USA TODAY

According to his Predictor Model, if played this week, ND would be about a 14 pt favorite over the Trojans in the Coliseum. I'd wait to lay a bet.
