I would say Russell and Day, but I think Shumate and Neal are going to play key roles for us as the season progresses. If we are talking first year starters, I'd say Golson hands down.

Day's real stout. Shumate flat out makes plays. Russell's going to be good once he gets his legs under him. Neal is visibly electric.
Mostly I'm just thrilled we're having this conversation two games into the season. Bodes well for the future.

Neal has such confidence in his ability. He will have an electric punt return by the end of the season.

Russel has looked pretty good. I really like his speed he offers. Each week i think we see he improve greatly.

Gotta like what you're seeing out of Day. If he is getting on the field ahead of Kona (Where was he vs. Purdue?) and Springman then he must be impressing week in and week out during practice.

Would like to see some down field shots with C. Brown and Davonte. Gotta keep the secondary honest and Golson/whoever else can't continue to stare down Eifert every other passing play. Put the best skill on the field. Isn't that why Golson is starting to begin with?

Gotta go with Day. The volume of snaps he gave us on Saturday was really impressive.

Day has been outstanding, and Shumate impressed me during the Purdue game. I think Russell has had the most on his plate, and deserves quite a bit of credit for doing his part. It seems like it has been quite commonplace for Freshman to contribute early in the Brian Kelly era, and with pretty decent results.

I know he isn't a Freshman, but Ishaq has impressed me thus far, and will only continue to improve. I think he will have a great game against Michigan State, as I feel we will bring pressure early and often to keep Maxwell off balance.

But a hit tale does not ought to be an enormous presentation or maybe a two webpage tale that you just may not have enough time to put in writing otherwise you won't have finances to get somebody else to jot down. pqfillergibberillichq tbqzxwyxig This luxurious utilised for being confined to anyone who has hired their particular foreign exchange brokers and analysts.

This guy knows exactly what he's talking about.

Great first post!

I vote for Golson. Kelly referred to him as a freshman today on his ESPN interview, so that is good enough for me.

WE couldn't have asked for better play then we are getting from all of our freshman this year. They are proving that good kids and great coaches can win.

The DBs because they play a lot more, but Neal's poise on punt return when a large majority of the time he has 3 defenders in his face, to me is amazing.

Yeah, I am really impressed with some of these freshman. Its so exciting to know that we have only seen a little of what should be long and great careers at ND.

In obvious passing downs, Shumate is a lock down nickel back. Its awesome.

Our Freshmen on the D side have had a big impact for us this year. Russell, Shumate, and Day. I really thought we would have seen a bigger impact by the freshmen WRs at this point.

Lynch who?

Lynch who?

Sheldon will make us forget lynch very quickly. Also Chris Brown showed us his deep speed today.

Davonte Neal had a pretty decent return. Shumate and Russell are going to be great into the future. Day is a player and doesnt play like a freshman

Day goes without saying, he earned his scholly on a single series. Russell has been a nice surprise, I hope he keeps growing.

I think it's probably easier to make the jump at most defensive positions than it is at WR. Similar to the NFL. The routes and timing are much more intricate than at the previous level, and the DBs are way more physical. Just takes a little getting used to. Remember Tate his freshman year?

But it was nice to see Brown get a couple of balls his way on Saturday (though he's so fast, how do you overthrow him?), and I'd think we'll see Neal make some plays before the season is through. I'm less sure why they're burning Ferguson's eligibility on special teams.

IMO it's without question Day. He's a flex D-Lineman who's done the job at DE as well as NG.

Could you image if Lynch had stayed? He's a special athlete and being able rotate him in there with Day for KLM and Tuitt, my god the front 7 would be even that more special.
