Negative Nancy here-its reality time. My only hope is that Purdue is or was better than expected because if they are not State is going to lay one on my Irish. I've said all along this was a 7-5 team and if I'm right I'm 'sad' and if I'm wrong I'm one happy man. By the way is this not the type of game Brian Kelly was hired to coach-its going to make a huge statement on his time and progress at Notre Dame. I think this game is more about Brian Kelly than many people are stating-he needs a win because next week your staring 2-2 right in the face.

Aren't you the guy who said they'd start out 1-1?

Only mentioned coach. No strategic talk. No insight on game.

2/10 Will not change my outlook.

Last week's ugly win was progress with BK no running game but our defense shut them down for the most part and a RS freshman's second career start. A couple years ago we do not win that game. Yes he was not hired to beat Purdue every year but we have certainly seen big improvements in this program.

I think you should just watch the game and see what happens. What do you mean "this is not the type of game Brian Kelly was hired to coach"...he wasnt hired to coach games against top 10 teams? Against physical teams?

Let me tell you something, Brian Kelly was hired to win football games. Period. He evolved his system to fit his needs. Hes building massive lines to win sluggfests and dominate opponents. He's grown as a coach over these last 2 years, and I fully expect that to continue. Brian Kelly was made for primetime games like these. he loves the spotlight, is charismatic, and is as intense as anyone I have ever seen.

werent you the guy that was DEAD wrong about being 1-1 and claiming that was "realistic."

I think your "realistic" opinion of the record is simply not credible... If I want a pessimistic opinion, Ill be sure to ask you.

He's probably right.

kinda like how Golson put the offense on his back for the Purdue game? Lol, Golson has already proven that he can LEAD a team when it starts getting tough. I fail to see how you could agree with him.

First post - no bio though, don't worry!

Fairly new ND fan, can't help but appreciate the program. Been reading the boards for awhile now, Weezy introduced me to all of you. Oh and I'm female...try not to hold that against me. You guys are funny as sh!t so I decided to venture out of the kitchen and read up on the Irish.

I'm excited for Golson this weekend, not excited about ESPN, and praying for no injuries -- we need those like Bob Ryan needs lip injections.

...I really like this font re-sizing thing; somehow I had a feeling that would be the only part of the post anybody noticed.

Profile has a pic - I'm sure I'll post more later. I'd hate for the MSU thread to end up filled with pics of me, let's leave that to Kate Upton's boobs

Dantonio talks Irish | Inside the Irish

With all the commotion surrounding Notre Dame’s future move to the ACC, some people forgot the Irish are playing in one of the week’s premiere games, when No. 20 Notre Dame heads to No. 10 Michigan State. It’s the first time the teams are playing each other ranked in the top 20 and undefeated since 1979.

Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio took to the microphone and discussed some of the challenges that go into playing Notre Dame.

I think many fans underestimated Purdue. Having four kids who graduated from PU, I try to follow them. I posted before the game that this wouldn't be a cakewalk and would be competitve because of the D-line. They also showed that they have some nice speed at a few positions. The Purdue game was just what we needed heading into MSU. The O-line knows they need to perform better. If it gets to crunch time again, I won't be surprised if BK brings in TR again.

ESPN's analysis on the MSU OL match-up vs. ND DL...huh, whu???

"The Irish pass rush has mostly come from its interior defensive linemen, as DE Stephon Tuitt and NG Louis Nix III have combined for 5.5 of the team's seven sacks through two games. Tuitt might be able to cause some problems for RG Mike Golic Jr., but in certain situations the Irish can provide help from C Braxston Cave, and then hand the duties of keeping Nix in check to LG Chris Watt."

Of course I no how to reed. I is a kollege student.

I check out the latest news on almost every thread, but I usually don't have time to beam through every page, I usually just look at the latest talk and can piece the puzzle from there. If it's been explained why BK left Golson in (while injured) for a few drives, then decided to pull him for the final drive (because of injury?), then I apologize and IDK what conclusion you guys reached for leaving an injured Golson in up to the final drive. Anyways, again, not starting anything. Just defending McShay's opinion of being skeptical about Golson pulling out a W at MSU this week. And again, I LOVE golson, LOVE Kelly, and cautiously expect to win this game.

Don't feel bad. Guy is putting Keith Arnold down, says he is "confused". So you are in good company. (I am personally glad JC posts on this board; now I know we is in good company.)
