Were we in contention for Larue before he committed to SC? I know he has been looking around because hes afraid he will get pushed out by Kiffin

Thinking they would push Massington out before Larue. Larue is a pretty explosive guy. Strong at WR, and smooth at CB. I have to think the CB potential is what is driving the offer although his WR skills are plenty on their own.

I don't think so, unless the article says differently. I seem to remember a few months ago one of our recruits (maybe Zaire?) tweeted him about ND and LaRue responded tersely that he didn't haven an ND offer. I got the impression there wasn't high mutual interest.

There seems to be a lot of misconceptions about having an offer or not having an offer... interesting how that stuff happens. I'd like to get him but definitely don't see it

But they might need Hooper. Augusta would be even better, but they need d-lineman. And I think they could really use Boyd over Cunningham for sure.

I would agree with Augusta, but no one seems to think we have a legit shot at him from what I have seen.

Number of scholarships available for this cycle got brought up in the Navy thread and I wanted to ask a question to clarify: With Lynch and Prestwood out, we should have two more to add to this cycle, correct? As well as Cam and Brad going on hardship, does that add another two? Can someone verify this and what our estimated magic number is please? (Obviously 5th years make this fluid, so just an estimate is all I'm looking for).

Also, which recruits, if any this cycle may be on pace to EE? How does that affect our numbers if the magic number is over the 25 limit?

I believe we have 28 scholorships available for 2013, minus whatever 5th years are granted. That number is up for debate, but I think it's safe to say 24-26 is the magic number. Any EE counts toward last years number, so since we have 6 open roster spots in 2012 we have some wiggle room there.

As for EE possibilities, I know I read somewhere there were quite a few, and that someone got shot down quick by their high school counselor, but right now I'm drawing a blank.

I believe Jaylon is the one who got "shot down". Zaire will EE and I also think Elmer plans to EE. Some others come to mind but I'm not as positive as these ones.

On scholarship, we currently have 18 juniors, 22 sophomores and 17 freshman, which means the magic number is 28. We'll likely take 3-4 5th year seniors, which means we'll have 24-25 spots available for incoming freshman. We currently have 19 commits, so assuming they all stick, we've got room for 5-6 more.

Also, which recruits, if any this cycle may be on pace to EE? How does that affect our numbers if the magic number is over the 25 limit?

We only signed 17 from last year's class, so the 25-per-class cap would allow us up to 8 EEs. Though ND seems disinclined to take any more than 5 EEs in a given year.

I think there are 6 2013 recruits who are looking to EE... however, like Whiskey stated, ND seems to dislike taking more than 5 for whatever reason. Bottomline is we have plenty of room for scholarships still.

Zaire, Anzalone, Heuerman, Mattingly and Robinson all plan to enroll early. I believe Steve Elmer is on that list too.

Numbers might be a issue if we are looking at that. But Moore will come if he wants too. September 22nd we will all have a better understanding on where we stand with some of these kid. Just win games and we might pull a stunner. Recruiting is only rounding second right now, long long way to go.

I must be inept at searching, but I can't, for the life of me, find the 2012 version of this thread. Can anyone provide a link?
