2013 CB Tre Bell winds up with Vanderbilt | ONLY GATORS Get Out Alive
Hints that he was dropped by UF. Stinks because he grew up a fan of UF. He found a good program in Vanderbilt. I dont think ND would have taken him.
This is exactly what happened. As soon as Florida gained a commitment from VHIII his days were numbered... I've heard they feel quite good about where they stand with Alexander too. He didn't have a commitable offer from ND the moment we got a commitment from Devin Butler from what I've heard... no idea if that's true though.
The bigger issue for me in this, is that if Vanderbilt grows like Stanford, ND will face serious issues recruiting the south.
Think about what Vandy could potentially offer.
SEC and a great education. Best of both worlds.
They could have their pick of southern kids who are smart but don't want to leave south who ND may have swayed.
This will never happen for a lot of reasons. First and foremost Vanderbilt will never, ever win the SEC and likely will never win their division. Stanford rose to prominence by playing a very weak schedule in a down PAC12. Look at Vandy's schedule for this upcoming year... extremely hard to imagine anything better than 8-4 at best. Second, in the event that they do win 8+ games their coach will be gone almost immediately.... likely to an SEC school he managed to beat (Tennessee obviously comes to mind) or a plethora of ACC schools that will pay more money.
