LSU junior DB Tyrann Mathieu has been kicked off the football team, according to KTBS-TV in Shreveport, Louisiana.

Rumors are circulating that the Honey Badger recently failed a drug test, reportedly his third in as many seasons. LSU head coach Les Miles has scheduled a press conference for noon local time, so we should receive more information on the situation in the near future. Tim Fletcher of KTBS-TV did mention that "privacy laws may prohibit Miles from disclosing reason for dismissal." ESPN's Joe Schad also added that people close to Mathieu have been looking for a new place for the junior to play next season. Stay tuned. Aug. 10 - 1:02 pm et

I'm not gonna lie, I would take him in a heartbeat for one year. He has been the most exciting player in football the last 2 years IMO. I just hope he doesn't go to one of our opponents.

He would have to sit out a year if he transfers to another DI program. I wouldn't count on seeing that happen.

I think he will transfer to somewhere like North Alabama State and play one year, then go to the NFL. I don't think we will see him in D1 again.
