Looks like Transfer #4 will be Khairi Fortt to Cal. Hasn't been confirmed yet but thats what the PSU insiders are hearing.

Who are the four? Buckley, Bolden (who was already leaving the program and had tried to leave earlier but was ironically blocked by Paterno), some lineman, and Fortt? Is Redd official yet?

Niwicki , the OL, hasn't officially transfered but will definitely leave. He's still deciding between some BIg 10 schools and ASU.

Even though we have to face him, I'm glad he left.

Smart move on his part...Sharing carries...should limit injury chances a bit...a chance at a national title...
win win for Redd

PSU brainwashed blind devotees are bawling...I'm laughing.

Penn State opens its season one month from today against Ohio U. It will be interesting to see what the starting lineup looks like by then

Fmr 4-star DL recruit Jamil Pollard leaving Penn State to go to Rutgers

Lost in all Silas Redd talk was FSU landing Penn St TE Kevin Haplea. Physical kid. Good blocker. Soft hands.

Redd makes the condoms my favorite for the title, barring injury, they're gonna win it all.

85 schollies, I'd say yes. They're down to 72 already with 3 probable season-ending injuries, and they haven't even started camp yet. That means they have to worry about injuries in practice, which means they have to ponder not tackling in practice, and that KILLED their defense 2 years ago. So for me, title contenders? Yes. Favorites? No way. I think they'll lose twice to Oregon and once to an underdog. And it's because of #'s, mot skill.

Redd brings them quality depth, no doubt, but skill position is the least of their worries. It's about depth along the offensive and defensive lines, and in the LB corp. Redd doesn't help with that. He's an amazing insurance plan - non-USC fans seem to forget just how good Mighty Mouse was last year as their top RB. He friggin' killed it. He's just small, so they are worried about depth. But seriously, USC needs a DE much more than they do an extra RB.

Besides, with Redd, that's just another person they have to share the ball with...which is fine by me as far as ND is concerned b/c we'll be really good against the run, but suspect against the pass. If they feel the need to force-feed Redd the ball against ND vs throwing up jump balls and slants to Woods and Lee (top duo in the country), then I'm all for it!

Shoot, thought this was the USC thread LOL. I'll put this post there as well.

Does anybody know if any of these players were in that group that stood together and pledged their support last week via that written statement? Just wondering if the reality and gravity of the situation sunk in and changed some minds.

I think he was the starter. I love it.

I don't. Texas needs a kicker badly, and now they get it without having to do any real recruiting, without having to predict if a h.s. school has 'it'. They had a chance at this kid in high school and they passed.

Your hatred for Penn St clouds the fact that other programs are benefiting from their demise, most notably USC and a team we recruit against out of the Northeast (Rutgers). I don't see how, as a ND fan, that can make you happy.

A kicker for Texas will be quite important this year too if they still can't get their QB position settled comfortably.

I understand that we have to play against Redd, but I don't think that Texas gaining a kicker and Rutgers gaining a 3-4 star recruit affects ND all that much.

Valid points sir, but if ND can't out recruit Rutgers and Pitt for Northeast's studs over the next four years. It will only be our own damn fault.

His issue was with Rutgers and Pitt getting better by taking Penn State's recruits, who can and do compete with us in the Northeast for studs, not recruiting against them directly. Big difference.
