Given how rarely we take transfers, our academic requirements, comparatively narrow list of majors and other bureaucratic hurdles that seem to be more onerous than some schools, it'd seem like a challenge to get anyone cleared to show up for camp in, what, two weeks?
But, if Justin Brown or some LB or corner or d-lineman wants to give us a shot, welcome aboard, eh?

To be perfectly honest, I did peruse the PSU roster for DB's when the punishments were first handed down, but did not really think about the possibility of welcoming in one of their wide-outs.

Doesn't take much analysis to figure out that Justin is a big time gamer and would almost certainly be a starter if he could acclimate to our system quickly.

Guess it's the waiting game to see how all the transfers play out and any interest he may have.

Free other than they have to pay the $40,000 for the scholarship and if the athlete they get is a junior or below, it will count against them the following year. It is a waste of a scholarship if you ask me. The only player I would want is a senior CB or WR with plenty of experience. They have had terrible recruiting classes as of late. I also consider it a waste of a schollie. Now some of their 2013 recruits, that is a different story.

True any team that takes a PSU transfer has to count that against their numbers in year two and going forward. While schools on probation can't take a PSU player if it makes them exceed their limit that doesn't stop them from dropping someone or having them go Juco for a year. You know Kiffin is looking at all the angles.

Just got a tweet from John Infante retweeted by Eric Hansen:

Now I just got this tweet:

Ryan Abraham retweeted by Irish Illustrated

Many tweets saying Silas Redd cannot transfer to USC. Untrue. He would count towards class of 2012. Would need to drop 1 scholarship.

NCAA only said USC can't go above 75 scholarship limit like other schools cant go abovvce the 85 limit.

which is true which is false IDK but this one sounds like it makes sense.

Fortt put it out on Twitter that he is solid. Not going anywhere.

Our Boy CW mentioned yesterday in Big12 media days that he's definitely interested in PSU guys. He could use some bodies, especially D line and a WR for Dayne

Darn Fortt was the one player I would have liked. I think if Redd leaves Fortt leaves. they are really close and from the same town in CT.

They could possibly be at 74 schollys if Rogers doesn't qualify or they could take a scholly away from someone else. There is really no rule in place that can stop Redd from going to USC if he wants to. Personally though I think he stays at PSU and then leaves for the NFL.

This whole thread makes me sick but I want to point out that taking upperclassmen transfers with the expectation that they will start (i.e. brown or a LB) is a great way to **** off the kids on the roster that have earned the spot and have been Irish all the way. BK shouldn't send the message to his players that no matter how hard they work they can always be replaced from the outside.

Don't give me the "this is a unique" situation argument either.

and why is the word that rhymes with diss and starts with a p censored???

Arnd 2 dozen PennSt players make commitment to program this AM. RT @Ben_Jones88 Silas Redd was NOT one of players at the statement..

But he is headed to B1G media days so don't read too much into it... yet.

If I were a PSU fan, I'd be pretty stoked about seeing players react like this. Come together, get pissed, get better, and take everything out on your opponent. Prove the country wrong. You've got nothing to lose.

Well said.

These Kids have not done anything wrong...give them alot of credit for sticking together.

While the the loyalty of those 25 kids is inspiring, it also implies that the other 60 kids on their roster are seriously considering their options. This shouldn't be comforting to PSU fans.

Thought that was done deal? Isn't Hackenburg announcing between Auburn and SCar sometime soon?

I don't think it has been made official. I didn't see anywhere that said he decommitted but will potentially look at USCar or Auburn if he does decide to decommit.
