Just got back from the midnight showing and.....WOW.

I had my doubts about how good this one would be following the Dark Knight but I was proven wrong. Christopher Nolan is a genius and this one was just as good if not better than the Dark Knight.

If anyone went to see it I'd like to hear your input on what you thought of the movie. If you havent seen it I definitely suggest paying the money for a ticket, you wont regret it.

It was fantastic. No performance as good as Ledger's Joker but overall I thought the movie was better than TDK. Anne Hathaway was very good, Bane was a great villain, and the ending was perfect. One of the best trilogies ever. I'm sad it's over.

The Man of Steel preview was really cool and I'm looking forward to that.

I agree I think Bane was the perfect villain to follow the Joker. I was very surprised by Anne Hathaways performance, I thought she did great.

Man of Steel looked very good and Oz did too.

My friends doubted anne hathaway entering tonight's showing... they left apologetic.

I've been an Anne guy day one. She knocked it out of the park.

We may need to make a thread for people that have seen the movie. Because, I want to discuss the ending...

I had chills going consistently throughout the final 45 minutes of the movie. A great ending to a great trilogy.

Going tonight. Where would you guys rank this in regards to The Dark Knight? I know the bar is set high but I thought it was worth asking.

Haven't seen it yet, my wife and I will be going this evening. I'm very happy to hear the positive reviews about Anne. I wasn't exactly a fan of her being cast and I was very worried she wouldn't put in a good performance. I can't wait after these reviews! Thanks for the insight gents!

I haven't seen it yet. But, I think Batman Begins was a better movie than The Dark Night. Anyone else agree?

I think they each are great movies and each have qualities that set up the trilogy perfectly. I dont think that I could decided which one I like better.

I thought this one was just as good if not a little better than the Dark Knight, and that is coming from someone who LOVED the Dark Knight. They are both awesome.

I loved all the performances, I thought Bane was fantastic and the film itself was absolutely beautiful with a moving score to boot.

That said, I detested the ending. I recognize it's the ending Nolan has been building to for three movies, but that doesn't mean I have to like it. I left the theatre completely unsatisfied with a nasty taste in my mouth.

I won't go back to this movie over and over like I have Batman Begins and Dark Knight.

I thoroughly enjoyed it. My girlfriend loved it and they serve beer at my movie theater. All in all, a total win for my experience.

I am a huge Batman fan. I love the movies, the comics, and the animated shows. Another director will be hard pressed to surpass this trilogy in the superhero genre.

Just saw it and loved it. Think Nolan pulling off such a great movie on that gigantic scale is so impressive, and almost unprecedented. Bravo Mr. Nolan. I will be going back for sure.

Great movie with many enthralling themes. Says a lot about society and theatre in general. Was not very much about batman which made it even better.

I really enjoyed the movie and thought it was great. But for me both BATMAN BEGINS and TDK were even better. Those two films were masterful. For me it comes down to a simple story/character point. In TDK Wayne/Batman are more assertive in driving the engine of the plot. He is going after the mob (a continuation of BB) and after Wayne/BM successfully take out the mob the Joker begins his killing spree. Wayne/BM are then trying to find the Joker and stop him. Again, the whole time Wayne/BM is an active protagonist, one we as the audience project ourselves into.

In TDKR Wayne/BM is more in the background, grampling with his own demons as the engine of the story is created by other characters. This is just a weaker narrative device. Still a great movie but not as strong as the first two.

Overall my favorite movie trilogy behind only THE GODFATHER. But passes LORD OF THE RINGS and the original STAR WARS for me. Thank you Mr. Nolan!

Thoughts and prayers for the CO victims. So sad.

Awesome movie...extremely quotable. I must say that I love Hathaway(freakin fine) she killed it. I appreciate the fact that her role wasn't overly sexual. Hardy did very well with Bane. I am a little confused about the end but overall this movie was dope. TDK was one of the best movies I have seen....ever. So IMO, it would have been hard to match that masterpiece. Awesome trilogy. Now here's to hoping they Snyder and company doesn't jack up Man of Steel.

(Still waiting for the Flash, c'mon Hollywood)

These movies are just way over the top. I mean, they are comic book characters people.

The Godfather? Lord of the rings? The Star Wars trilogy? Those movies won Academy awards. They are part of americana.

This Batman trilogy? More along the lines of the Transformers trilogy.

Have you seen any of the movies? Christopher Nolan changed the way super hero movies are made. But hey i respect your opinion but i have to disagree with you. And the star wars trilogy is highly overrated

Bane's speech before he blows that hole in blackwater prison is really really good writing. That speech gave me goose bumps.

Also was tom hardy voice not incredible or what?

These movies are nothing like the TV series. Now that's Batman.

And where the heck is Robin???

I saw it last night....and I thought it sorta sucked. It was generally unoriginal and predictable. Yes, I know "it's based on a comic book!" but still. Nolan is much, much better than this movie. Nearly three hours of aimless action and then an ending twist.

This movie is nowhere near what the first two were. Unfortunately Nolan couldn't beat the history of a third act being a letdown--this one was for me.

I liked the review which said "a bit less than an hour of near genius writing surrounded by 90 minutes of blahhh."

The Dark Knight Rises is resonant emotional, and sometimes beautiful, but it's also overlong, overstuffed and oftentimes frustrating. It manages to pack in enough moments of true cinematic mastery to make it worthy of watching and appreciating, even as it takes a series of baffling and unnecessary storytelling detours that only weaken the overall experience and make this trilogy land just short of the greatness it could have had.

This.

It was ****ing great! The wife and I went to an RPX showing last night and it lived up to expectations. Was thrilled with Hathaway's performance because I was worried prior to someone mentioning she killed it yesterday. Less Batman in this, but I thought it did a great job. Cool, but predictable bordering on obvious twists. Ending was great. I sort of have a man crush on Christian Bale ever since American Psycho.

I know Kevin Nolan said he was done with the Dark Knight, but I refuse to believe they are done with this franchise. I mean, everything set up so ****ing well. It was brilliant. Hands down the best Batman series ever, even if this flick wasn't as great as The Dark Knight, and I would argue that Bale is as good or better than Keaton. That may be my bias but I've honestly loved this trilogy.

I've never been a fan of superman because he's just a superior race from another planet. I'm sure the movies will be great but I just don't really care too much about him.

I doubt Nolan does anymore Batman movies but with the Justice League movie in the works I wouldn't be surprised if this Batman story isn't over yet.
