I would like to know: How today's development with the NCAA all over PSU threatening to tear them a new @sshole before the US Attorney does, by way of something as server as having them shut down their entire football program, affects the recruiting process of one linebacker?

Bogs, what did I miss brotha? I hadn't heard any of that. There is something further to come from all that mess there?

The FBI turned over emails that pretty much said the PSU Board of Directors were going to turn in Sandusky when the found out, but Paterno said no. So they didn't.

Also, I read that McQueary's hiring may have been part of that situation to keep him quiet.

OMG! Yeah sorry guys for having to repeat, I've kinda purposely steered clear
of that thread. I just don't have the stomach for it. If this is true they should have some serious sanctions come down on the entire program and as great as I thought JoePa was that is despicable of him. I never would have ever thought he would allow such filth. People are scary.

BTW NDinLA, that post you made on ISD was textual ***-kicking of that guy. The fact ISD is glacial to ban paying customers (duh... good business...) really hurts that board.

The douche was killing recruits one time (like almost a year ago), and I railed on him, but our posts were deleted. So he takes it to PM and I verbally kicked the crap out of him. At first he was game, but then the little b**** ran to the mods. Every mod was cool with me, even Mike Frank who emailed me personally to get the scoop and even he was cool with it, except for one mod who isn't a mod anymore, and he banned me for life out of the blue. After the dust settled and buccos and PacMan reinstated me, I already had a new username and I let it go.

He JUST realized that it was me, so he sent me a PM trying to see how I was doing while also throwing in subtle jabs. The dude is SUCH a d-bag; he still insists that him ripping Anzalone and his dad is no big deal b/c they shouldn't even be reading message boards and any recruit who doesn't choose ND is the stupidest human alive (the irony in him saying that is just awesome LOL). Dude is a Grade-A moron...

I want to punch him.

Right on his forehead.

With all the stories coming out in the past few days, curious as to how, if at all, things change with Alex and PSU.

I dont think many committs care about Sandusky and the cover up because it happen with the previous administration and coaching staff. Now if the NCAA investigates Penn State and say gives them the death penalty. Then recruits will then pay attention.

Do these kids simply not read the news? I can't imagine a kid not getting queezy walking into those locker rooms if he understood what happened there. How can you take a shower in there and not feel weird that it was the exact location of these horrific crimes against children?

If a kid has no problem with that, then he is either not informed or heartless. I believe Alex (his desire to do their BS/MBA program is more evidence of this) seems to be one of the non-informed.

Not trying to bash the kid, but it sure looks that way from my point of view.

You're point of view, is the same as mine. And makes me literally want to puke. Sickening.

According to accusers it was the showers, the couches in the locker rooms, the gym, and just about everywhere imaginable. It would take a lobotomy for that not to be some factor in deciding whether to play at PSU.

Making judgments about kids based on how we think they should feel about Sandusky seems a bit to much.

Why is that? I respectfully disagree.

I actually agree with tadman on this one.

It seems crass and bossy to tell a kid,

"if you don't feel is way about this situation, then you are heartless"

It had nothing to do with Anzalone, and I know it's a tragic situation, but maybe his positive views outweigh the bad on PSU.

It doesn't make him a heartless bastard

I don't I am with Tadman on that. Some may actually have altruistic motives. You can never get in anyone's head.

However, from a future standpoint, even for football, I have to feel that anyone that committs to PSU now has a screw loose.

I understand what you guys are saying, but I don't think anyone is calling Alex "heartless", I personally think he is misinformed. I say this because if he had read the accounts of what happened in those locker rooms, I find it hard to believe that he would consider spending the next four years of his life there.

For example, would you buy a house that you know was the scene of child molestation?

If you are informed about the details of the situation, then you probably wouldn't.

What if I were informed, and still bought it because of how much potential I saw in it?

Does that, in turn, make me heartless? Because I am informed and still buy?

Wooly I agree with how it makes you feel, most of us do. I also wonder when I was 17/18 if I would have felt like I do now.

I found after my twins were born that I was MUCH more sensitive to situations involving kids. Before that I would have known it was bad, after they were born, I could feel it.

Just my $.02 but I don't think most kids that age would fully appreciate the gravity of it, especially with the attention and adoration of thousands of football fans being heaped on them.

Keeping the right perspective would be tough I think.

In any other situation, yeah maybe could understand. But this, IMO, is the exception...just horrific. Something not easily overlooked, not necessarily getting free tattoos.

Especially given his "reason" for decommiting from OSU.

I don't know... I kinda want to say "yes".

It's just my personal opinion, but I couldn't raise my kids in a home that I knew a child was molested in recently. The whole thing would creep me out and I wouldn't want those negative vibes surrounding my home and family.

That's what I mean about PSU. After every practice, after every home game, a kid would have to step into those showers and consciously accept the fact that they spend part of many of their days in a place where horrific crimes against children took place.

It's just bad juju, imo...

It is bad juju,

I just think it falls more on the university, as far as guilt goes, than on the student-athlete.

It doesn't necessarily make the individuals there now bad people for being in the same place that atrocious things happened in.

Well said NDinFL.

Being a major re-building block (as I'm sure it's being sold) to Penn State would make a kid listen.

If it were me, the still looming legal and NCAA actions would scare me off. There's going to be be some penalties.

Maybe over time. But not now, not yet. Not for a while.

I'm with Wooly in this department. Not say anybody else is wrong or anything like that but I don't want to be associated with "that" school. That whole mess is just sticky because then you will be answering questions about it even though you had nothing to do with it. 'So, how does it feel trying to build the program back up type questions.

That's just me personally and if my son was considering PSU, I would have a most serious sit down with him.
