Video Interview earlier in the day before he made the announcement. The smile on his face when the reporter asked about ND was awesome.

What's even bigger than Jaylon committing is Jaylon committing NOW. every time we have had a big time 5 star prospect commit its been late in the game, but finally we have one in Jaylon who will be able to strongly recruit for us.
Said he will wear #3 at ND
What the hell you think I've been doing?
Smith has long been a relative lynchpin in recruiting, and he’ll join a 13-man recruiting class that’s actively courting some of the nation’s top uncommitted prospects. According to 247Sports’ Steve Wiltfong, that effort has already started.
“I’m talking to Vernon Hargreaves right now and Michael Hutchings,” Smith told Wiltfong, with Hargreaves and Hutchings among the top 50 players in the country. “I’m talking to Alex Anzalone. We have some guys coming in in June to visit and I’m looking forward to that.”

#NotreDame target Michael Hutchings RT @CaliHutch_17: This man Jaylon Smith just committed to notre dame and he is already working on me
@keitharnoldNBC "Jeez Poot, so behind. We're already calling him overrated and complaining about Rivals dropping his ranking this fall."
From the ESPN article about his commitment: "Every (Notre Dame) coach has the same stand character wise," Smith said. "Other coaches tell you what you want to hear, and I saw that with my brother." With Urban and Lane's reputations preceding them, they might have a bit of trouble selling their snake oil to Jaylon.
