I'm already covered for that disaster. Not only am I married but I got a vasectomy about 4 years ago.

I am starting to prep, but just so I have enough to live on hoping whatever hits (and it will most likely be financial, like Greece or Spain, not Mad Max) will only last 6 months at the most. Weapons, alternative money and water are easiest, its the food that worries me. Hard to keep a rolling 6 month stock for 5 people.

That is true. I am trying to buy large canned food items. Then as I eat them replenish them to keep stuff rotated. "american Handgunner" had a good magazine. It was titled "Reality Check Survive 2012" Its a nice read if you are looking to stock up properly.

Shouldn't you already have your 2k rounds? Where is the preparedness people? If my house ever caught fire the fire dept will have to sit back and watch from a distance.

Actually, unless the round is chambered, it will carelessly "pop."

UPDATE:

No bath salts detected: Causeway attacker Rudy Eugene had only pot in his system, medical examiner reports

An autopsy report says testing for a number of street drugs, including bath salts, came back negative, and that Rudy Eugene had only marijuana in his system.

A condensed and narrated version of the Miami Herald building security camera footage showing the attack on a homeless man on the MacArthur Causeway. Rudy Eugene bit off the face of Ronald Poppo during the attack. Police shot and killed Eugene to stop the attack.

Rudy Eugene, the man who chewed off a homeless man’s face on the MacArthur Causeway and was shot to death by Miami police, had no drugs in his system other than marijuana, the Miami-Dade Medical Examiner’s office said Wednesday.

On May 26, Eugene stripped off his clothes along the causeway from Miami Beach before attacking 65-year-old Ronald Poppo in a ghoulish, drawn-out assault in plain view on a city sidewalk captured by a Miami Herald security camera. Eugene was shot by a police officer who found him chewing chunks off Poppo’s face.

The bizarre details of the attack prompted speculation that the 31-year-old attacker was under the influence of harder drugs. Soon after the incident, for example, the head of the Miami police union publicly speculated that Eugene was on bath salts, synthetic stimulants that have been blamed for seemingly psychotic episodes in other cases around the country.

But the medical examiner — after seeking help from an outside forensic toxicology lab — could find no evidence of the common components of bath salts in Eugene’s system. Nor did the lab find evidence of synthetic marijuana or LSD.

The medical examiner also found that Eugene had not ingested cocaine, heroin, PCP, oxycodone, amphetamines or any other known street drug other than marijuana — a drug not known for sparking violence.

"Within the limits of current technology by both laboratories, marijuana is the only drug identified in the body of Mr. Rudy Eugene," the medical examiner’s office said in a press release.

The autopsy initially found evidence of a substance in Eugene’s stomach that appeared to be undigested pills, law enforcement sources told The Herald. But the medical examiner’s press release Wednesday did not address what that substance may have been.

The toxicology findings lend further mystery to Eugene’s unprompted attack on Poppo, the homeless man Eugene found dozing in the shade of the Metromover train tracks before attacking him. Eugene, who worked at a car wash, had a record of minor, nonviolent drug offenses, though he was accused of threatening his mother in a domestic dispute in 2004.

Rikkia Cross, Eugene’s on-again off-again girlfriend, is now convinced that Eugene’s actions are the result of something supernatural that afflicted him.

"Somebody did something to him, somebody put something on him. I know for sure that wasn’t Rudy," Cross said on Wednesday.

Cross last saw Eugene in the early morning hours of May 26, more than eight hours before the attack on the causeway. At about 5:30 a.m., Eugene woke Cross and told her that he was meeting a friend.

Cross said Eugene was acting odd that morning, rummaging through closets. He kissed her goodbye and walked out of their Broward County apartment holding his Bible.

Eugene ended up on Miami Beach — which was hosting Urban Beach Week — where his car apparently broke down. But it’s still unclear what Eugene was doing on the beach in the hours before the attack.

Shortly before 2 p.m. on May 26, motorists began calling police reporting a naked man walking down the road and hanging off light posts. Police later found torn Bible pages strewn along the causeway.

Then Eugene encountered Poppo; Eugene rolled the homeless man onto the sidewalk, pummeling Poppo and removing his pants before gnawing on his face, security footage shows. The entire attack lasted about 18 minutes.

This is more scary than finding he was just doped up on bath salts.

Undead zombification is a biological impossibility. Even if it were possible, natural phenomena would destroy such creatures very quickly (once a human body loses thermoregulation and an immune system, things go downhill in a hurry).

Living zombification, however, is possible. Fortunately, they're much easier to kill than the undead variety.

They are easier to deal with. The problem is if you don't know what causes it. Person + bath salts = "living zombie" it is very easy to see and understand. Person + nothing = "living zombie" now that is not a cool equation.

I've seen people go nuts before. They have done a lot of weird things but eating someone's face off?

Well, it doesn't really sound sane to me. IDK. Just throwing it out there. I suppose (at least for now) the good news is there haven't been a rash of similar cases. Not eating faces, any way.

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/w...bus-driver-chews-off-womans-face-7903914.html

A drunken bus driver left a woman needing plastic surgery after leaping on her and chewing her face, in the latest in a string of worldwide 'cannibal' attacks.

The entire incident, which took place last Tuesday in the city of Wenzhou in south eastern China, was caught on camera and posted on YouTube.

The bus driver, named locally as Dong, had apparently been drinking heavily during a lunch with friends before running out into a busy street and stopping traffic.

He proceeded to jump onto the bonnet of a car driven by his victim, identified as ‘Du’, and hammer on the windscreen while Du sat inside screaming.

As Du scrambled out of the car to escape, Dong chased after her, catching her and biting her face. As the two fell to the ground, Dong continued to chew on her face, leaving Du with major damage to her nose and lips.

Passers-by said they attempted to pull Dong off Du, but said he was so 'crazed' that they were unable to. Eventually police arrived at the scene and restrained and arrested him.

The attack is the latest in a string of 'face chewing' incidents around the world.

In May, 31-year-old Rudy Eugene ate the face of 65-year-old homeless man Ronald Poppo in Miami. Poppo lost his left eye, had his right eye badly damaged, and suffered extreme injuries to the rest of his face after Eugene attacked him. Eugene was shot and killed by police during the incident.

Also in May, Alexander Kinyua, a 21-year-old Morgan State University student, admitted to murdering his roommate Kujoe Bonsafo Agyei-Kodie and eating his brain and heart. The Kenyan student had apparently ranted on Facebook about 'mass human sacrifices' before the attack in the Baltimore suburbs.

In June, 26-year-old Charles Baker removed his clothes, stormed into his girlfriend’s house and bit and ate a chunk of a man's arm, before powering through police taser guns until being tackled.

In another incident a 21-year-old man burst into a Florida restaurant shouting obscenities, and tried to bite the hand off a police officer.

And again in May, the Canadian porn star Luka Magnotta allegedly murdered his 33-year-old Chinese lover Jun Lin in a Montreal flat on the evening of May 24. Parts of the university student's body were then posted to political offices in the city of Ottawa, including the Canadian Prime Minister’s party HQ.

A ten-minute video entitled 'One Lunatic, One Ice Pick' was posted online after the killing. The footage shows a man thought to be Magnotta attacking his naked, tied-up victim with an ice pick, before hacking him to pieces, eating parts of his flesh, and performing sexual acts on his corpse.
