Boston will probably get a fine. Big deal maybe $2 million about the same as the gate receipts (and not including TV revenue) for one game at Fenway. I don't care if this is the Sox, Yankees, nor any other team. You get caught cheating like this (lack of institutional control to borrow a phrase) you forfeit the game(s). And you ban the participants to flat out stop it.

A guy on second base observing the catcher's signals is part of the game. The video replay people relaying to a management employee isn't.

Yanks won 16-7, 18 hits. BoSox lose. Lead 3-1/2.

Judge made some history. Two HRs and a BB in 2 ABs. The HRs give him 40 only 2nd rookie to ever hit the many. The walk tied Ted Williams MLB Rookie record of 107.

Judge joined Ruth, Gehrig, DiMaggio, and Mantle as Yankees who hit 40 HRs by the age of 25.

CC, Garcia, and Gray scheduled for the Tampa series at Citi Field.

17 of Yankees last 20 games will be played in NYC.

Need to run off 7-8 in a row so that lead is 1 or less at the last week of the season.

Yanks romp. Sox win again. AL East lead stays at 3.

Tanaka gave up 2 runs on 2 solo HRs over 7 innings whiffing 8.

Judge had a HUGE night, 3-4, 2 HRs, 6 RBIs. Against the Orioles he's hitting .462 with 11 homers and 24 RBIs.

He 43 HRs in his rookie year has him 6 short of the MLB rookie record. HIs 27 in Yankee Stadium are the most in the new park in a season.

The only Yankees that have hit more HRs than Judge in a season are:

61 Roger Maris
60 Babe Ruth
54 Mickey Mantle
54 Alex Rodriguez
49 Lou Gehrig
46 Joe Dimaggio
44 Tino Martinez

Yes it is. The question now is can he match them for multiple seasons with strong numbers?

With no more games with the Red Sox, Yankees need to take advantage of having the last 6 games at home.

those red sox sure know how to win games in extra innings--its maddening! we just cant get to the 1-2 games behind some to be stuck on 3-5 GB last couple weeks.
I think sawx are 14-3 in extra inning games this year.

if we could just score some runs when sonny pitches

Clinched a playoff spot today. They are more than likely going to be playing in the wild card game, which isn't idea. This still isn't a bad year considering they were in a mini rebuild. The future is certainly bright.

Yankees lost again while the Sox won. NY is 5 games behind with 7 to play. Magic number is 3.

Bright spot, Aaron Judge hit a pair of HRs, #47, and #48. He leads the AL and is one short of Mark McGwire's MLB Rookie Record of 49.

CC pitches monday afternoon in a make up game with KC.

No way Boston is going to go on a losing streak, so we'll have to be content with getting in as a wild card.

Too bad we can't rewind the clock about 5-10 years and skip the play-in game...

Boston closes the season with a 4 game series with Houston with home field advantage up for grabs. That series was NY's last chance essentially. NY had to win out while Houston swept. With NY's losses of the past 2 days along with Boston's win yesterday, it's possible NY could still win but it's not likely. Three Bosox wins against Toronto over the next 3 days make what NY and Houston do irrelevant.

Judge Sets Rookie HR Record with #49 and #50.

He passed DiMaggio with #47 and passed Gehrig with #50. Only 4 Yankees have hit more HRs than Judge in his rookie season:

Slip Slidin' Away

Slip Slidin' Away

Houston doing their part pounding on the Sox 12-2.

NY took a 4-1 lead into the 4th and gave up 7 runs. Gray got the first out, walked two, got another out, a Sanchez error gave up a run, a Sanchez passed ball gave up another. Gray walked another than gave up a HR. Without the Sanchez misplays, the HR would have been a GS. Bang TB 5-4.

It continued with a single, a HBP, Holder relieved Gray, faced two batters and gave up a single and a triple for 3 more runs. Shreve got a K for the 3rd out.

Since then they've traded a run. 9-5 TB, Top of the 9th.

In 4.2 innings Gray gave up 6 runs, 6 hits, 5 BBs, and a HBP.

The Twins Continue To Be Absolutely Terrible Against the Yankees

JON TAYLER
Wednesday September 20th, 2017

The Twins lost to the Yankees today, 11–3, as New York finished a three-game sweep of Minnesota in the Bronx. That drops the Twins to 2–4 this season against the Yankees, which isn't necessarily that bad; after all, the Yankees are a very good team, are likely going to win the wild card and still have a shot at the AL East title. But this has also been the story of the Yankees and Twins for every season seemingly since the dawn of time.

With that 2–4 mark, Minnesota has now posted a losing record against New York every single year since 2002. That's 15 straight seasons of complete ineptitude against the men in pinstripes. And those years haven't even been close: The Twins' collective record against the Yankees in that span is 31–78, or a .284 winning percentage that would translate to a 46–116 record over a full season. That winning percentage would be the 15th-worst regular-season mark in modern major league history. Put another way: The Twins against the Yankees over the last 15 years are, collectively, one of the 20 worst teams in the last century-plus of the game.

But wait, there's more! There are three different years in that time—2002, '03 and '09—in which the Twins didn't win a single game against the Yankees, and in that '09 season, they also lost all three of their ALDS games against New York. At one point, the Twins lost 13 straight games to the Yankees across the 2002 and '03 seasons. Things are even worse when it comes to Yankee Stadium, which seems to be Minnesota's own personal House of Horrors That Ruth Built. Since 2002, the Twins are 12–40 in the Bronx—a .231 winning percentage, or the equivalent of a 37–125 season, and in seven different years, Minnesota didn't win a single game it played in Yankee Stadium.

The stats aren't any prettier. Including today's shellacking, Twins pitchers have a collective 5.09 ERA against Yankees hitters since 2002 and have surrendered 150 home runs in 121 games. Not counting today's stats, New York's lineup has hit .287/.347/.465, or just a tad under what Jeff Kent slashed over his entire career. The Twins, by contrast, have managed a mere .252/.309/.388 line against Yankees pitching, or the rough equivalent of Pokey Reese's career at the plate, and have been shut out seven times.

So yeah: The Twins are bad against the Yankees. So bad. So, so, so bad. Bad beyond belief. Bad to the point where you wonder what the Yankees are putting in the water in the visiting clubhouse at Yankee Stadium. Bad to the point that it shoots past coincidence and even suspicion and lands solely at the only plausible explanation being that the Twins are the plaything of a merciless god who lives in Staten Island and thinks Don Mattingly is a Hall of Famer.

Well, at least luckily for the Twins, yet another season of getting beat on by the Yankees has finally come to a clo—

Maybe Minnesota should consider ceding that second wild card to the Angels to save themselves some pain.

According to ESPN, Judge's 51st HR, was 13th in September, 2nd most in Yankee history. Babe Ruth hit 17 in 1927.

It was also his 32nd at home this season tying Babe Ruth for the most HRs hit at home ... in 1921

Per ESPN

Ervin Santana likely Twin starter against NY

He's 0-2 against NY and BOS this year. 16-6 against all others.

6.17 ERA against NY and BOS. 3.11 against all others.

1.37 WHIP against NY and BOS. 1.11 against all others.

1.8 K/BB against NY and BOS. 2.8 against all others.
