I've heard their names, but Idk enough about those prospects to judge whether or not it was a good deal. Anyone more knowledgeable than me know whether or not this was good/bad/neutral?

all 3 guys are 22/23 years old, fowler ruptured his patellar tendon in his fist game as a yankee (poor guy). really no long term RF spot with AJ there. kaprellian had tommy john couple months ago but had an era under 2 in single a. I think the guy a's coveted most was Mateo but fowler and kaprellian are legit and if they get healthy in future years its great trade for Oakland. mateo is a great hitter.
these guys are the #4, #8 and #12 ranked prospects in the yanks system but other than fowler were couple yrs away from the bigs.

yanks are all in...love it.

Also, the Yankees have a ton of OFs, and these guys aren't at the front of the line.

They're all in while keeping their best young players and future financial flexibility. The future is bright.

I would have preferred to only give up 2 of those 3 guys but Gray is under control for 2 more seasons and there isn't a clear path to the majors for them so it is what it is. If they win a championship in any of the next 3 seasons it was worth it even if one of them turns into a HOFer.

I really like what Cashman did. Kept the guys they needed to keep and got better. Not only for this but next year as well as everyone they acquired is under team control through at least next year.

Tanaka pitched well 1 ER on 6 hits in 6 innings. 7Ks.

Tiger's Zimmerman was better, 6 hits, no ER in 7 innings.

Yanks shutout, 2-0, for second time this year. Fall 1 game behind rained out Sox.

Bettances had an "immaculate inning" struck out 3 with 9 pitches.

Judge is .149 (10 for 67) since All-Star break.

Kluber struck out the first two Yankees he faced then got a ground out to end the inning. Kluber got all the runs he needed in the bottom of the 1st on two unearned runs on 3 NY errors, one at first, one at second base, and then Wade turning a single into a 2 base error driving in the two runs.

Gray gave up 2 earned runs on 4 hits in 6.0 innings but Kluber struck out 11 holding NY to 3 hits for a 5-1 win.

Bosox won again dropping NY to 2 games behind.

Aaron Judge had the night off.

Sox are hot, Yanks are not.

Sox 8-2 in last 10 while NY is 4-6. NY slide to 4 games behind.

Sox Saled by Kluber while C.C. gave up a pair of 2 run HRs while the NY offense took the night off again.

In the 7th and 8th walks and hit batsmen gave NY ample opportunity to take the lead but they managed only 1 run.

Judge's troubles continue as he again went hitless, walks or strikeouts. He set a Yankee organization striking out in his 25th consecutive game.

IF CC goes DL NY would have to recall Montgomery who they are trying to shield from pitching too many innings.

Gray and Garcia better start paying dividends immediately while the NY offense needs to find some offense.

Yankees got their offensive stroke back last night, 11 runs on 17 hits, 5 2Bs & 3 HRs. They staked Tanaka to a 6-2 lead entering the bottom of the 5th but he couldn't stay around long enough to qualify for the win. Control issues.

17 hits but the top of the order, #s 1-3, only had 2 hits and only scored one run. Judge was 0-4 but walked once breaking the Yankee Rookie record of 81 by Charlie Keller in '39. Judge trails Ted Williams MLB record of 107 walks by 25 with 49 games remaining.

Cooper was 4-5, Todd Frazier 3-4, and Gregorius 3-5.

Slip Sliding Away!

Slip Sliding Away!

11 runs on 17 hits last night and shutout tonight, 4-0. Yankees outhit Jays 6-5 but the Jays drove runners in while NY had 19 LOB.

The top of the order, #s 1-3, were 1 for 12 and stranded 8 runners. Judge had the only hit a double. Hicks was back off the DL and went 0-5.

NY falls 4-1/2 behind Sox.

WOW!

WOW!

Sox cruising along through 7, 3-0.

Yankees heading toward a second consecutive shutout till Gardner gets HBP to open the Yankee 8th. NY scores 5 times.

Enter Chapman.

Walks Bradley on 4 pitches.

Walks Nunex on 5 pitches.

Loads the bases with the next 6 pitches.

Chapman threw 15 pitches ... only 3 for strikes.

Chapman bears down against Benintendi and gets 2 quick strikes. Next pitch skyed to left scoring a run on the sac fly. BUT Nunez tries to advance to 3rd and is cut down. Deep fly to center seals a surprising Yankee win.

Drama in the Bronx.

BoSox lead cut to 3-1/2.

Judge had another no hits, some BBs, some Ks game. He's 2-19 in last 6 games.

He's on pace for 121 walks which would break Ted Williams mark of 107 walks in a season.

Judge also added another game to his Yankee consectutive game with a K mark.

Yanks hit 3 HRs like they did against the Sox Saturday only the Mets didn't have a Benintendi to hit a pair of 3 run homers. NY won 4-2.

Montero and Cessa, a combined 1-11, pitched well enough but NY's bull pen shut out the Mets over the last 5.1 while the Met's gave up a pair of HRs in the 8th.

Sox lost to Indians. Lead by 4-1/2.

Judge hit an HR tonight and also got his obligatory strikeout and walk.

He's struck out in 31 consecutive games, 5 short of the MLB record.

His 87th walk leaves him 20 shy of Ted Williams MLB BB record.

Gregorius hit a 2 out 2 run double breaking a 3 all tie and giving NY a 5-3. Kahnle, 2-3, got the win in relief. He also picked up his 5th Blown Save.

Judge went 2-5 and hit a 457 foot HR into the upper deck. It was his 37th tieing him with Albert Pujols and Al Rosen for 3rd most HRs by a rookie in a single season. He trails McGwire with 49, and Wally Berger with 38.

Judge also struck out in his 33rd consecutive game whiffing, breaking the MLB record for a position player. It's been 40 days, even a long time by biblical standards, since Judge has not struck out in a game. He was hitting .330 on July 7th when his slump began. He's hitting .185 over the 40 day slump taking about 40 points off his season BA.

Judge did not get a base on balls tonight so he still trails Ted Williams MLB record of 107 walks in a season by 19

Judge needs to improve his discipline when in the batters box. It's feast or famine and famine occurs a lot more often then the feast.

It's a funny game, it was such the opposite the first half of the season- he showed great patience...probably pressing a bit trying to get out of what really is his first slump all season. Not uncommon for a rookie. Still having a phenomenal year.

Greg Bird is close, crazy that he will be back this year.

Chapman heading to DL may be the gift of the season. A chance to get him out of the closer role without controversy.

This team still has a chance...bats need to to get hot this last month and change...they are due!

Yanks have only won 3 games this year without hitting a HR, fewest in baseball.

NY trails Sox 3-2 in the 6th, 1 HR, versus 2.

Yanks rallied from 3 down to take a 3 run lead but Sox in turn put up 6 runs for a 9-6 wins.

Boston lead at 5 games.

Green, Kanhle, and Chapman all failed out of the pull pen each allowing 2 runs.

Kanhle got the loss and Blown Save #6.

Sox had 10 hits, 5 of them came with a 2 strike count.

NY left 25 on base. #3 and #4 hitters Judge and Sanchez each left 7. Judge ground out with the bases loaded and struck out with the bases loaded. He now has 35 consecutive games with a strike tying the MLB all-time record.

The Streak Is Over

The Streak Is Over

Yankees routed the Tigers 13-4. NY had 16 hits, Sanchez (2 HRs) and Frazier (triple) each had 3 hits. Tanaka got the win in his first game since coming off DL.

Judge had a hit, an RBI, 3 walks, and no Ks ending his 37 consecutive games with a strikeout.

Judge had 3 walks which gives him 93 on the season, 13 behind Ted Williams MLB Rookie Record.

Sox also won. NY still 4-1/2 behind.

Fister gave up a pair of doubles to NY and not much more. Meanwhile BoSox hit 3 of Garcia's servings into the seats for a 4-1 Boston win. NY 5.5 behind.

Orioles won in extra innings closing in on the Yankees for Wild Card Slot.

No Sale in the Bronx

No Sale in the Bronx

The best pitcher this season didn't get out of the 4th inning Sunday in the Bronx. Sale gave up 3 runs on 7 hits a pair of walks and had 6 Ks. The problem was 3 of the hits were HRs, one in the 3rd and back to back shots in the 4. With one out in the 5th he had thrown 106 pitches. He wasn't wild throwing 71 strikes but the Yankees fouled off 29 pitches sending him to an early exit. Sale has not done well against NY all season going 0-3 in 5 starts.

Severino after getting battered in his last outing against the BoSox was superb allowing 0 runs through 7 innings on 2 hits, the only base runners, and whiffing 9.

NY had 13 hits including Judge's AL leading 38th HR.

NY closed within 3-1/2 games of 1st Place. NY starts a series with the hot Orioles while Boston faces Toronto.

Orioles hit 3 HRs to NY's 2 but Yanks won 7-4. Montgomery started and gave up 2 ER on 5 hits and a walk. He struck out 4 in 4-2/3 innings. He got the first two batters out in the 5th then walked the next on 4 pitches. He was pulled having thrown 67 pitches. Management is limiting his pitch count although no number has been given. Green, 3-0, got the win with 2-1/3 scoreless innings of relief.

Castro and Gregorius hit the HRs.

Judge was 1 for 1 with 4 BBs and NO Strikeouts. The 4 walks give him 103 on the year, 4 short of Ted Williams Major League Rookie mark.

C.C pitches Tuesday

Yankees blew a golden opportunity tonight. Beaten 7-6 by 4 Oriole HRs the last one a 2 run walk off shot in the bottom of the 9th. CC had a 6-1 lead and had it chopped to 6-5 by HRs. Betances pitched the 9th and gave up the requisite walk he provides ahead of the 4th Oriole HR of the game. Betances got BS #3 and the loss for a 3-6 record.

Meanwhile the BoSox battled back from a 2-0 deficit and took it to extras innings winning 3-2 in 19 innings.

NY loses a game in the standing to Boston and to Baltimore in the Wild Card race.
