Men's figure skating left unnoticed. I think Malinin is the best and he just had a terrible day due to overload in teams competinion that costed him a gold in singles. Shaidorodov did a performance of his life. Too much of pressure made favorits fail.
He has also mentioned, now multiple times, how much bigger the Olympic presence and pressure is. I honestly think the US Olympic committee should spend some decent money on figuring out how to help athletes face the pressure. We have so many heavy favorites, among the all time best at their sport, who seemingly wilt under the Olympic spotlight. Simone Biles, Mikaela Shiffrin, and now Ilia Malinin. I feel like there could be a very good return on investment in terms of medals just by helping our very best perform to their standards under this increased pressure.

The guy is fun to watch. Just had rough night at the worst time. It happens!

It's among the world's most corruptly judged sports anyways though so....
Unfortunately it is, hope with the development of technologies some things will be judged automatically like completion of rotations on a jump and take off, ideally AI replacing the technical crew. Yesterday the difference between 3 and 6 place was less than 4 points and in today's world it lays withing the marging of error due to the subjectivity of judges. It's our job to leave no doubts (c) 😃

There are 2 women in the freestyle big air that are competing with torn ACLs. Maybe its not as farfetched as I thought.

Down 1-2 after the 1st. USA with more shots on goal. USA goalie gave up a bad goal from center ice. Let’s go USA

Pesky Denmark giving the U.S. some troubles early. I'm sure the Americans will overcome it throughout the game, but a slow start for sure!

If the U.S. doesn't get elite goaltending, probably the biggest strength of their team, they have very little chance to win it all.

Nice little finish from Guentzel. 5-3 USA. Recovering nicely after a bad start. This is probably a good thing Guerin's squad. It will serve to help them focus moving forward. You play like they did for the first 30 minutes vs Finland, Canada, Sweden or even Czechia and it's tournament over.

that goal from back corner of net that got shot off of Denmark's goalie's back skate and bouncing backwards into the net should be an ESPN sportscenter top ten highlight

all the shrinks in the world cannot make someone a champion
you either have it when it matters or you don't

something like judging might be where AI could make a difference

Looking at he medal count, why is Norway so much more dominant than Finland? My ignorant American brain just assumes they’re basically the same place (they do have about the same population).
