And yet he's a professional hockey player? lol
Overwhelmingly recognized as at least one of the best players (generally THE best) on the planet currently and a legit generational talent,…….. lol

We're having a conversation dripping in sarcasm. Connor McDavid is the best hockey player in the world by almost everyone's estimation and some people don't even think it's very close.

He's arguably the fastest skater in the NHL. He has insane coordination, especially when you consider the speed he plays at. He sees the game at an incredibly high level and has elite tier hockey IQ. He's the Captain of his team, has been clutch for Team Canada as recently as scoring the OT winner to beat the U.S. in the 4-Nations and is hyper competitive in nature.

2026 is McDavid's 11th season in the NHL. He will have passed 100 points (an important seasonal milestone in hockey) 10 times during that span and the only time he fell short was in a 97 point season when he missed 25% of the season due to injury. Nobody is close to McDavid in terms of points during his time in the NHL.
Lol

We're six weeks into 2026 and people still can't comprehend sample size as it relates to sports.

It was the years of being a boring square that gave it away more than anything
I use to watch hockey back in the 70's. Still remember seeing Ottawa doing a white-out way back then.

Except for, you know, leading the league in playoff points in 3 of the last 4 seasons.
The fact that Edmonton hasn't been able to overcome their goaltending and defensive play to win the Cup when when they reach the final has rested on McDavid's shoulders in the eyes of some. That said, anybody that actually watches the games knows that McDavid and Draisaitl are often dragging Edmonton to the brink of winning. At some point I can only imagine that they're going to get over the top, or else he'll sign with a franchise in free agency that has competent enough roster building to adequately support McDavid. At 28 he realistically has another 8'ish years of high level production and 10-11 years of NHL play. At some point he has to do something for himself if Edmonton can't make the correct moves

Not even close NHL Stats

He's 35th amongst players with >15 games.

Much worse offenders, like the science experiment that is Brady Tkachuk.
I know just enough about hockey to know some names and stereotypes and stuff. What is the Canadian hate with Brady Tkachuk all about? Half Canadian... captains the Senators?

He seems like a goober kinda?

Nothing wrong with the Tkatchuks, they're just good ol' fashion shit heads. We've got the same kind of guys in Marchand, Wilson and Bennett on our team lol.

They're just the perfect guys to hate because of their style of play and because of the international rivalry.

The overrated one, Connor McDavid with 6 points through his first 2 games, despite John Cooper purposely keeping his minutes down to save him for the playoff round. Not a bad start considering Czechia and Switzerland are legitimately good international teams.

Plays for a poverty franchise. He gets hate for actually being a good player and also a great heel. Also, the Quebec factor of Habs fans having emotional breakdowns whenever he clowns them.

In NCAA terms, it would be like an Auburn player getting hate from Bama and Georgia fans.

Men's figure skating left unnoticed. I think Malinin is the best and he just had a terrible day due to overload in teams competinion that costed him a gold in singles. Shaidorodov did a performance of his life. Too much of pressure made favorits fail.

They have good ole American giant penis and those with lil Canadian micro leafs hate having them around their women.

I love the tkachuk family, loved their dad and love both Brady and Matt,… they’re quickly taking over as the first family of American hockey for me.

Oh me too! Love guys that are goal scorers and face punchers. Some of my all time favorites are players like Cam Neeley, Jerome Iginla, Wendell Clark, Brendan Shanahan and Marcus Foligno.

The guy is fun to watch. Just had rough night at the worst time. It happens!

It's among the world's most corruptly judged sports anyways though so....

They rough up the canadians during international play. Reason why they don't like them.
