Perkins it will be. Got his offer and immediatly set a date for early next week to announce. Add that to the fact that he is a local South Bend kid and viola'... we have our next commit.

Mr. Smith is coming next week I beleive...

It was initially rumored that Smith would be visiting with Shepard and Greenberry on the 7th, but he mentioned in his recent chat on Rivals that he'd be visiting toward the end of the month instead.

It would be nice to get one of these running backs on board. I wonder how that is playing out, smaller fish waiting for the big fish to land first(meaning all RB's, not just ones interested in ND)?

June is busting out all over

June is busting out all over

NExt week DAVID PERKINS becomes the big bad running back COACH KELLY will
be needing soon.

Then on the 23rd and 24th GENO SMITH and his mother will decide ND is THE place
to spend the next 4 or 5 years.

You've got to be kidding me... weather Gods are predicting rain that whole weekend. That means Tee gets snow/rain for the Spring game visit and then more rain this time around. Unreal.

Perkins has Syracuse as his leader even after the ND offer and he would rather play defense than RB. He has stated that twice since his most recent camp. He is NOT the RB prospect that is going to solve ND's lack of depth.

'Cuse was his leader until we offered him yesterday. Now, it's anyone's guess. Personally, I'll be flabbergasted if he doesn't pick ND next week.

He originally wanted to play RB at the next level. Then he did well as an OLB in a few camps, and warmed up to defense. No one knows for sure where he's projecting for us.

His 40-time is listed as 4.4, and given our dire need at RB, how do we take him as an OLB? He'd be more a project at that position, and would likely have a hard time breaking into the two-deep behind Ishaq, Shembo, Councell, Spond, and maybe Rabasa.

I love our commitment to the DB position. Kelly & company said that is their focus and they've had a great start and it looks like they're going to be able to add to that class as well.
