Who is likely next 2015?

Last year's DL recruiting could have been much much worse. Cage at minimum has already shown to be a middle clog and needing doubled. I think Blankenship can have a very good career here (I'm thinking Kap-esque, four years, captain, etc). Trumbetti can play, we know that. As far as Bonner, Hill, Mokwuah, Williams; hard to say what happens but at minimum that's some great depth/scout, better than we have had for a while.

This years group, doesn't look the sexist I agree but (and I know people hate this) I'll defer to the staff. There's a lot of experience making those decisions together. And who is to say one of these kids doesn't surprise us. A kid or two usually does.

You know what? I wonder why I am the only person that watches Cage blow up the center; I think he has stuffed opponents on short yardage plays twice this year. Or look at his tackles for losses, and compare him to the first year play of a Big Lou, and not be blown away at the massively larger impact he is having. And Chocolate got a year in the weight room to boot!

I like Treadway as well. Tiassum is a little bit of a head scratcher and he probably won't be ready until the 3rd year but like Jarron there's a lot to work with.

Absolutely sleeping on Treadway. I feel like Taylor's school's scheme was so weird, people didn't really know what he brought to the table last year. He looks pretty good too.

I also love how he is undersized because he is only 275 in high school!

D Line (17) = Ishaq (if he comes back), Jhonny W, Romeo, Jonathan B, Cage, Matsuka, Rochelle, Day, Blankenship, Hayes, Jarron, Mokwua, and Trumbetti. PLUS we will have Bo Wallace, Elijah Taylor, Tiassum, and Dew-Treadway coming in next June.

That is 17 dudes for 4 positions. We have enough depth. Time to put all the chips in the middle for Soso, ESB, Alize, + the best DB we still have interest from (Iman Marshall).

Time to put on the full court press for Soso, ESB, Alize, and Marshall. All 4 are highly rated at their positions.

Any updates on these 4? Is it safe to assume they are all NSD commits or are any of them close to pulling the trigger?

Soso- toss up says he wants to decide in October so I doubt that happens. Probably take a few more officials.
ESB- Really weird recruitment, maybe ND? I wouldn't be shocked if he ended up at Utah
Alize- If he comes back for the Banquet is he coming back for a reason? He has seen ND at least 3 times I believe
Marshall- zero doubt in my mind he ends up at USC. 110%

Thinking/Hoping

Soso - in the next 3 weeks
Buncom - late Nov
ESB - Dec
Alize - Jan

According to Tj we will take 2-4 more. Only one of ESB, Jones and Cager. They see Jones as a flex TE who would satisfy the desire for a big wideout. Would still love to steal Fitzpatrick.

What pass rushing guy do you want? I can't think of one realistic target right now.

Gustin or any other in the top 20 that can provide immediate competition. I think we have more weapons next year than this year due to the RSs that will be ready to contribute but it'd be nice to get another Trumbetti in the fold.

I know we aren't leading for any of them but I'm simply sharing the wish list :)

I would agree, but my logic is we will take Soso, Buncom, and ESB... then Jones wants to come late. We don't turn down the #1 TE if we have room. I do think by that time we will also know about a few transfers..... just my opinion.

Of our current WDE recruits, Gustin seems like the most realistic (even though we don't lead atm) since USC is likely going to stumble a few more times down the stretch, and we have a good chance of making the play-offs.

Edit: ESB seems intent on letting his recruitment go the distance. I wouldn't be surprised if Jones commits first, meaning ESB's spot may be gone by the time he comes around.

I think its also possible we see a couple more DE names pop up as the cycle goes on, if we miss or perceive us missing on some of the key names already mentioned. Remember, Dan Cage, Jhonny Williams and Kolin Hill weren't looking like ND targets / commits at this time last year either. Things can change fast.

Yes they can, and hope they do. But right now it looks pretty bleak at DE. I wish UM had a few we could steal. PennSt got any? :)

Lmao. It'd be awesome if one of the BK parody accounts would tweet at James Franklin and say we could use a DE. Who's your best commit?

Are we limited to 25 even though we have EEs, or are we assuming a certain set of 5th year players? I'm thinking why not take all four of those guys on Irish YJ's list and keep shooting for a pass rusher.

Limited to 25 due to RS decisions. The EEs would count against last year's class but not help out with the 85 limit.

Thanks. Still, I haven't seen ND at the 85-player limit in years and I doubt taking one more pass rusher would put us there ... there are always defections for one reason or another.

Last I saw we're still in the conversation but he hasn't scheduled his OV yet.

Lucky hasn't it been mentioned by a couple sites that he will take a visit to ND and academics are really important to him, not the usual lip service..... I believe if we really do get an official that we could surprise people with Tell and be a real player

Anyone have a feel for potential transfers. Pretty sure I've read that Josh A and Jalen B will likely move on, but I don't think they are factored in next years number anyway (or could one move to S?). Thinking the ripest place for transfers would be in the LB space were a few folks have been passed over by youngsters. And, with a few studs coming in.....

Yea, we're in the conversation on a pretty consistent basis but he hasn't actually scheduled his OV yet. I'd like to get that on the books before I get too excited.

There is always somebody, but no one that pops into my head

The more visits Soso takes, the less and less I think he comes north. I thought ND was atop of ESB's list??? Did we let off the gas on his recruitment? I agree, another trip from Alize means he is Irish. I still want Marshall to at least visit...you never know.

I know some of the young guys we have are coming to ND regardless of our record. Other then trying to win these next 2 games and the bowl game how do you effectively keep a good class together?
