I voted we were gonna lose one on NSD just based on a feeling and it came true.. Hoping this same feeling about Neal works out the same way!

I actually meant to vote for Arkansas here. Accidentally clicked ND (Freudian slip?). Anyways, my prediction is Arkansas. Just a hunch.

From all reports around NSD, it was OSU with ND 2nd. Then Urban had his plan back fire and OSU was ruled out along with Oklahoma.

With DGB going to Houston, it opens up a spot for Neal to play right away (he could have even if DGB signed but it's even more likely). Luke Neal has stated he wants Davonte to get a mix of academics with the best exposure.

They seem to be playing nice with Arizona as it's the home school.
Davonte has been quoted as saying he is not to fond of Rich Rod's offense because he feels he will run block too much.

UNC is in it because of a little family but the possibility of sanctions loom.

Arkansas is a sleeper because you really don't hear a whole lot about them. Would Neal also be the PR for Arkansas? Will they play him on defense?

ND will play him in the slot, as a PR, and possibly even on defense. Luke Neal has been high on ND this entire time. Seemed like it was Luke Neal for ND and Davonte was for OSU. OSU and OU are now eliminated, seems it's ND's to lose.

Hope ND, of course. But I'm going with UNC. Neal loved the visit and has family in the area.

It's just not our year in recruiting.

We lost a kid to Houston, for godsakes.

I'm not going to try to read between the lines on this one because every sign (pre-LSU commitment) had Gunner to ND and then he chose LSU (for the time being).

Have to go Irish. All signs point this way. Plus we need his talents.

Completely understand and don't fault you one bit. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst with ND recruiting.

Everyone has their different reasoning for believing certain things, no big deal.

The one thing I am sure we all can agree on is that they really need to make positive noise on the football field this season. They need wins badly. Last year was filled with such incredible bad luck it was really unbelievable.

I truly believe they need at least 10 wins this year to help with recruiting.

I hope we don't need a 10 win season to land a great class, because we probably aren't getting to 10 wins.

I think our class will be good though. Small class + lot of 2013 prospects with ND interest = successful class. Hopefully.

We do need 10 wins. And we need to start a QB that can make some things happen if you want to attract playmakers.

How'd 8 wins work out for us this last year?

We're not gonna get 10 wins, not a chance with that schedule. 7-8 wins is what I"m predicting But, if we can play well in all those games, especially since they're all over the place, we can attract some guys.

I'm actually already looking forward to the 2013 season....to be honest.

I love your posts because for every one, I imagine Charlies voice when I read it.

I chose Arizona due to the recent family tragedy. I just felt that this may caused him to want to stay closer to home and be near family. I think ND has the best chance if my scenario doesn't play out.

Good thinking... alternatively though, having been through a recent family tragedy myself, it made me want to be the absolute best that I could be for the short time I have on this earth. That to me would be choosing Notre Dame for the "elite" education I could receive. While I am biased toward ND, I still believe I would have picked an opportunity with a Stanford versus a University of Tennessee or Kentucky..

Exactly my train of thought.

That would be AZ State....

To be fair, I bet Arizona isn't hurting for hunnies either.

Yeah, I was thinking that, too. Though the "make the most of your short time on this earth and pick Notre Dame" response makes sense, too. Really, everyone responds to this sort of thing in their own way, so who knows how it'll shake out. I do have a hard time seeing him going to North Carolina, though. Between the distance and the NCAA boom being lowered and their traditional mediocrity. And Arkansas? Why bother? But then part of me thinks if he was for ND he'd have committed already.
In short, I didn't vote, because it seems pretty wide open.
