I may be an outlier here..Jigga can attest to the fact that Eurodance was big in Chicago on B96...

You keep your whore mouth shut about 311. There isn’t a single band alive today that puts out consistently unique and good music as 311. Except maybe Pearl Jam. Haha. 😆

If I want to chill out and get high. 311
If I want to get hype and bang the old lady? 311.
If I want to hit the waves? 311
If I want to get some shit done at work. 311.
All day any day playa.
I like them also……still hard to believe they hail from Nebraska 🤣

I’m not sure we can be friends anymore. I’d put Pearl Jam then 311 then about a couple light years of distance to anyone else in the 90s music scene. Lol

Ten is perfect. Not one single note is out of place or wrong. 😂
No disagreements here.

First time I heard Live Forever I was a junior in HS. August 1994. I really was looking for something different at that point of my life. Oasis' Definitely Maybe album gave me that musically. It was nothing like AIC, Nirvana, etc. in terms of message. It was kind of like "Just because things suck doesn't mean they can't get better and it won't always be this way."

Then a year later WTSMG comes out and everyone is singing Wonderwall. Felt kind of cool to be one of the first to arrive at that party.

Totally understood why a lot of people didn't get it and I was fine with that. A lot of people don't get deodorant either but c'est la vie. I completely get why people now don't care that they're back together. Rumor is they're going to play Soldier Field in late August 2025. I'll absolutely be there.

Going to see Coheed and Cambria Friday night. I think this makes a half dozen shows of theirs for me. My favorite band all time.

they supported Incubus here last week lol
Yeah, they've been touring with them and did so with Primus earlier in the summer. Odd because Coheed usually headlines themselves, but still neat bands to tour with.

This show in Harrisburg is a headliner by Coheed, so we're very pumped.

I feel the same way. I've tried to like country but I can't. I think it's horrible. Completely understand the popularity despite the fact that I just don't get it.

Oasis from 1994-96 was excellent. Those first two albums, along with the countless B Sides and legendary live shows were basically the last gasp before cell phones, the internet and fucking Limp Bizkit coming along breaking everything and setting it on fire.

I truly have always LIKED (not loved) Oasis. They were definitely blown up IMO and put on a pedestal as the second coming of the Beatles (the whole Second British Invasion was), but they are good. If they were never given the hype, people would rank them higher I think.

Interested how this reunion goes. Ticket prices will be ridiculous and that’s a shame.

apparently Oasis will do an Asia, Australia and South America tour after the UK/IRE one so stands to reason they'll do a huge North American one also next year

went to King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard last night. Was awesome!
Dude I saw Gizz the next night in Richmond. Such an incredible experience, albeit miserablt hot (was worse standing outside for that concert than it was when I went to College Station for the game a couple of days later). Only recently got into the band, but was lucky enough to go to the band with my buddy who introduced them to me three or four years ago. I wouldn't say it's my favorite concert I've ever been to (still probably when I saw my favorite band, the Arctic Monkeys at Red Rocks), but this was probably the best concert I've been to. They're insanely good live. Only wish was that I got to see The River or Gaia live.

They are playing at red rock this year which would be insane to go to. I saw them at the dell and the venue was alright. But if your interested they live stream all they’re concerts.

I'll be seeing them live in Chicago on October 5th at the Salt Shed. Can't wait.

I'm liking more folk rock type stuff in middle age. I hope this isn't a gateway to country music.

Guitars. Guitars. Guitars.

If there was a problem, just add more guitar.

There just aren't bands anymore. Not mainstream anyway.

I have my 8 tickets for Oasis at Soldier Field. It's going to happen.

Tomorrow night, Mt. Joy at the Salt Shed. Should be good stuff.

I think you’re safe. There are tons of sub-genres nowadays that people may confuse w/ (pop) country on first glance: Alternative country, outlaw country, singer/songwriter, roots, folk rock. Lots of great stuff out there despite the fact they don’t sell out arenas. I prefer the small intimate venues anyways.
