Also - when people say "rock music is dead!!!" they are just admitting they're lazy.
I think when some people say rock is dead, it’s due to the difficulty of new bands getting exposure and making money.

Also, there doesn’t seem to be a new genre of bands that get the masses excited. Since the 50’s, rock & roll has constantly reinvented itself…until the last 15-20 years (or more.)

Most of the bands that are still playing that I enjoy originated in the 90’s. Unfortunately, for me, many of those bands (TOOL, QOTSA, Radiohead, etc.) only put out new music once or twice a decade! It makes me think how incredible it would’ve been to be a Beatles fan in the 60’s when they put out 13 albums in 6 years!

I saw Krhaungbin last month. Just saw Mastadon with Coheed and Cambria last night. Got tickets to Metallica Pantera and Suicidal Tendencies at the end of the month, I’ll be seeing Clutch In June and got tickets for NIN in September.

Fathers day weekend wife got me tickets to go to Fenway Park and catch the Yankees and RedSox for a night game.

I’ve been revisiting Gojira, Deftones, Baroness, and The Sword, lately. Definitely really good rock bands that are still putting out music.

If you like qotsa, check out the new Viagra boys album. Josh took them out last year and said they're his favorite new band. They're awesome

Thanks, I’ll check them out. Have you heard of Patrón? I just discovered them recently. They’re made up of former QOTSA members. And speaking of QOTSA, I’m going to see them next month in Chicago. 😍

Not sure if you listen to Mini Mansions (Mikey Shuman from QOTSA) but they're pretty good.

Took kids (all adults now) to Metallica last night. Suicidal Tend and Pantera opened.

As always - a freaking fantastic show and the kids were stoked.

Okay, those of us of a certain age grew up with Lil Wayne. Weezy is iconic. Weezy is a legend. That said…Tha Carter 6…whew. There’s a couple decent tracks, but there isn’t a “Lollipop” of “A Milli” on the entire album. Maybe a 6/10 at best. And I say that bc I love Lil Wayne. It’s somewhat nostalgic, but it isn’t great. Not at all.

Didn't get up this morning thinking I was going to hear a reference to rap and nostalgic in the same sentence. lol
