Tonight, my pregnant roomie wanted pizza, and wanted it ASAP.

So tonight, we ate Little Caesar's Hot-n-Ready pizza.

Kept it simple tonight. 1/3 lb burger with red onion, lettuce, tomato, pickles, avocado, Vermont cheddar, and homemade campfire sauce.

My wife's family LOVES pazole.

Making a big batch of chicken adobo, white rice and about thirty lumpia... Epic.

What do you think of it?

Some of my favorite comfort foods are soups (Pho, Pozole, Beef stew, Zuppa Toscana, etc.).

It's a clone of a dipping sauce they use at Red Robin. Equal parts mayonnaise and Sweet Baby Ray's hickory barbecue sauce with some cayenne pepper. I hate mayo by itself but this stuff is fire.

I just mix my mayo with either Tabasco or Cholula depending on what I am putting it on.

I'm not knocking it brother, I'm sure you kill it,... It's not my thing at all and you know I love mex food... I'll take good Tortilla or Albonigas any day, hominy and the base flavor of that particular soup just aren't my fav...
My soups are Pho, Beef Stew, French Onion, Tomato Bisque, Tortilla, Albonigas, and even chicken noodle, ( one of the few things that carried over from my poverty childhood, add a spoon of vinegar with some Campbell's CN and I'm all good... Yeah I know)

Btw I'm a soup guy too... But mainly the soups listed above,... One thing I don't get, Italian soups... Like Italian food in general... I just don't get it.

Pizza is nearly a weekly staple in my house. My wife will get a salad and a hoagie, and I'll get a pizza to eat that night and again for lunch the next day. We usually go a bit more classy and get Jets though haha.

In terms of Hot-n-Ready, there was a Pizza Hut down the street that did $4 pizzas ready to go every Tuesday, and they were superb in quality, but they've since closed up shop. Little Caesars is the tits for the money and convenience, though.

My Napa Valley vegetable inspired take on the tomato-habanero sause painted shish-kabobs recipe taught to me by my former boy soldier, Rwandan refuge chef neighbor for dinner last night.

This morning-- huge stack of buttermilk pancakes with a birthday candle on top.

Thick filet mignon cuts with white corn picked this morning and loaded baked potatos paired with a '92 Rafenelli Zinfandel pre-staged for tonight.

Today is a good day.

So I had to go six pages deep to find this thread. Shame! :)

I made a half duck with collards (cooked with ham hock) sweet potato mash and grilled peaches. I helped a friend bury a whole hog in his underground pit earlier today. Hopefully we will have a shit ton of meat tomorrow. I also have some wahoo chilling right now for a Sunday dinner. Don't know what I want to do with it though.

Traditionally, here, they do collards with bacon and vinegar although ham hocks are the way I learned to cook them. I have not tried adding sugar and I guess hot sauce is basically spicy vinegar so I need to try that! Ham hock is something I like to do when I can. It adds some fat and a different type of pork flavor than bacon. I stopped by a local farm out on Wadmalaw Island today and picked up the duck and collards and my guy had some hocks so I grabbed those too.

Mustard greens are excellent with collards. Choice!

Cholula. Yes. All day son.
I was taught by an old Mexican coworker after all the house made salsas were discontinued. He insisted that that's what his family uses.

We don't have a great selection of hot sauces here. I am sure that's different out there. We have like three that's it.

Crystal , cholula, Texas Pete. That's about it. Yeah I guess Tobasco too. Anything else is basically a specialty item and not always easy to find.
