Green Hat & Bombay Sapphire East martinis. They'd be better if the weather was warmer. I bought gin just when it turned to whiskey weather.

Short's Brew Bim Bam Boom

Hmm, I really am only getting the cayenne a tiny hint on the nose and at the end in the throat. The orange is noticeable but a little out of place, and the cacao nibs really bring down the beer to a bitter level. Great to try different stuff like this.

Do the hops taste old? It's a double so I was hoping it'd last longer.

Sorry, I've been away. No, it actually was really great. I could drink those all the time. Thanks again!

This was one I actually hadn't tried and honestly wasn't sure about. Glad it wasn't terrible, haha.

It was good, I just was expecting more from the cayenne. That and the really sweet stouts tend to be overkill for me after about 3/4 of a beer.

The Glenlivet Nadurra

A dram on occasion of my friend finishing law school. Damn this is good. Really really good, thanks pkt

Thoughts?

Very surprised that it wasn't hoppier. The mango wasn't bad, but it's just not the beer for me. I didn't know it was an amber/red. I saw red on the label and thought it'd be a hoppy red ale by Lagunitas. Good mouthfeel, resiny, with some citrus that is appreciated when it's getting hot. However, I thought it was lacking a depth of flavor, but I find that a common trait among ambers. At least around here

I am glad that you enjoyed the Nadurra.

As for the Lucky 13, I remember previous releases of it being hoppier and I was slightly disappointed with the lack of hops as well.

Flying Dog Pale Ale. S'okay. Most pale ales have that aftertaste that hits the back of my throat that keep me from fully enjoying them. It's hard to describe. Yeasty?

2012 Ormanni Chianti Classico. Sometimes you can just tell you're gonna like a wine when you open a bottle.

Earthy, slightest funk to it, dark color and deeper flavor than most Classico I have, acidic with strawberries. The cork smelled of violet (yes I know you're not supposed to smell the cork, but I forgo that rule all the time).

Pearl. I hadn't had a Pearl since the late 60's. Asked my son to bring some back from a recent trip to Houston. He brings me back Pearl Light. Not the best light beer in the world.

Opened the bottle of Bourbon County Stout last night. It was not infected and it was amazing.

Tonight: Karbach Rodeo Clown Double IPA. Pretty good. It hides the alcohol pretty well. More full body than I would've anticipated. Fairly malty. Not bad at all, but not particularly great.

I had ABW Blood Works Blood Orange IPA earlier, which is friggin' fantastic. I really hope that they start canning it soon, because it'll make them a ton of money and I can start using it in trade packages.

Rogue Mocha Porter and now Lakefront Fuel Cafe.

Going to one of my favorite beer bars this week so should hopefully get to try some new things. Hoping they have some good stuff from Bell's and Surly on tap.

Glad your Bourbon County ended up being good. Also color me potentially excited about the ABW Blood Orange!

That is great news, glad you got a good one.

Lagunitas Waldos and Founders Sumatra Mountain Brown. The Sumatra Mountain Brown is growing on me a little bit.
