Pure Hoppiness. PKT is right on the money. It's good, but not $18 bills a sixer good. Not to my perhaps undereducated tastebuds, anyway.

The Green Flash x Alpine is not an accurate representation of Alpine. I bought a Nelson and was severely underwhelmed.

The Mayan (Chocolate Chipotle Stout) - Ilkley Brewery Co. (new one for me; never heard of before today, and Im hoping it's a sub for Stone Xocoveza, which I can't get anymore, apparently)

I had Green Flash Pacific Gem APA last night. A little too hoppy to be refreshing, but a little too weak in other respects. Pretty blah, overall. I also had DC Brau's Penn Quarter porter. It was like drinking cold, watered down coffee. Nothing to it. I had a third beer that I thought was an Imperial stout from a local brewery but the bartender said it was a porter from Ballast Point. Either way, it was better than the other beers, but still not great. 3 strikes for me. That's why I only watched the first half of the CFB championship last night. I figured if this place couldn't serve up one good beer, I might as well go home.

Not a DC Brau fan. Never had BP porter, but very fond of Sculpin and Grapefruit Sculpin; also had and like their Grunion and Calm Before Storm, though the latter a bit less. Want to try Calm Before Storm again; I had it once when I couldn't really focus on it.

?

Ballast Point Victory at Sea Imperial Porter with coffee and vanilla is amazing (like mid 90's). If you like Porters, coffee and vanilla it is a must try.

Sounds great. I'll try to track it down. Is it year-around? I always see Sculpin, G Scuplin, Grunion, Even Keel and a couple of tohers, but not that one. I normally grab any porter or stout from a brewery I like, and I like BP.

V@S is seasonal. Want to say it comes out late Nov, early December. Picked up some BP Sea Monster today as well as The Abyss by Deschutes.

Enjoying a Goose Island Bourbon County Barleywine now. Very sweet for a Barleywine although it is an English Barleywine.

I really like Deschutes the Abyss but I think that it is best aged.

Signatory Brora 1981/2003 21yo 46%. Just an amazing whisky.
N: Slight wood smoke, soft malt, light melon, stone fruits (peach, apricot), sea breeze and some brine.
P: More smoke and peat on the palate. Brine, stone fruit, and a touch of wax. Some slight sherry notes coming through like a couple of drops of balsamic vinegar and raisin.
F: Smoked peaches? soaked in a brine first? Slight wax notes.

Scott's Selection Highland Park 1981/2006 25yo 50.6%
N: Grassy slightly smokey peat. Hay, heather, and some pencil shavings.
P: Hay, heather, and peat. Some wood smoke, and a fair amount of oak, and a slight spiciness (allspice).
F: Lots of polished oak, pencil shavings, heather, allspice and wood smoke. Slight malt sweetness and the finish is rather long.

New Belgium Citradelic IPA. Normally I love Citra hops but I am not a huge fan of this beer. Something seems to be off about it.

I've seen this name but I know nothing about it. How is it?

Pretty good. Checks in at over 9% ABV so it's boozy but it's really smooth. It's sweet but not too much. Malty.
