Sierra Nevada Narwhal Imperial Stout. Just a great stout. Loads of cocoa and some roasted coffee.

As is. It can age though.

Speaking of stouts Oskar Blues Ten Fidy is one of the best that I have had. Speaking of that:

Did you know that Oskar Blues is opening a brewery/taproom/music venue in Austin next year?

Oh yes. Some are a bit peeved that a larger brewery is moving in and making that part of town even more dominated by breweries. The rest like beer.

I'm holding a few bottles of Narwhal though idk for how long.

I went to a distillery in Rockville, MD yesterday with my wife. It's a place called Twin Valleys and the owner/distiller, Edgardo, makes some good stuff. We sampled his rum and his whiskey, and there wasn't anything I didn't like. The place has only been in operation for about 18 months, so his whiskey does taste young. He plans to age stuff longer once he has enough inventory stored up. He's a true one man show, doing it all. If you're ever in the area, it's worth checking out.

I've been on a huge whiskey and coke binge lately. Jack Daniels: it warms my soul, ya'll.

StrangeLand Alt. Finishing off this 6 pack. Very yummy and I'm picking up another one of their offerings tomorrow.

Finishing off the Montepulciano from the other day because nothing relaxes me like red wine.

Coronado ipa just showed up here. Is it good? Anyone? Anyone?

Their standard IPA (Islander) is just ok. Their imperial IPA (Idiot) is better but still nothing special. I think that one of their seasonal IPAs (Sock Knocker) is worth buying to try at least once as it is a good IPA but still not great. Sadly their best beer that I have tried was their 19th anniversary IIPA but that came out over the summer. Most of their other beers are average at best. Almost forgot, their Stingray IPA is good but I have only seen it on tap. If you have questions about any of their other beers let me know.

Lindemans Gueuze Cuvee Rene is a very good slightly sour beer and easy to find.
Cuvée Des Jacobins Rouge is a very good sour beer as well that is regularly available.
New Belgium La Folie is a very good sour beer though can be expensive depending on where you are at.
Duchesse De Bourgogne is good as well.
Rodenbach Grand Cru is great but can be expensive.

Harder to find depending on where you are:
Jolly Pumpkin makes a good assortment of sour beers.
Russian River (though probably not available where you are) make the best sour beers.
The Bruery makes good ones as well (not sure if available by you or not)

In Birmingham, so picked up a sixer of Avondale Brewing Co's Pachyderm Pale Wheat Ale. Delicious.
