Had Anderson Valley Fall Hornin' last night. Solid but not great pumpkin beer. Just had Lagunitas Sucks for this first time, very good beer. Later tonight I'll dive into a New Belgium Salted Caramel Brownie Brown Ale

SN Celebration. Dang this is good. Also I knew it was the right time to pick it up because somehow it was $7.50 at the HEB. Delightfully hoppy.

Well that sounds pleasant. Let me know how it is and if I should start looking for it. I love me some brown ales.

Agree, this is the Ben and Jerry's collaboration correct? I need to know if worth while

For a 12 pack or a 6 pack? $7.50 sounds about right for a 6 pack of it.

Coronado Bobblehead Red IPA. Very malt forward with lots of toffee and caramel. Some orange, tangerine and orange marmalade as well.

6 pack. I'd only seen it for about $8.50 elsewhere, so I thought it was my time to grab it.

Yep, it's the Ben and Jerry collaboration.

It's pretty good, wish there was more of the salted caramel in there but not bad. Hints of chocolate on the back end but not overly sweet. Malty. Pretty good dessert beer in my opinion but could see how some wouldn't like it.

The deeper I get into, the more I liked it.

EDIT: Starting to pick up the caramel a little bit as it warms up. It's a pretty complex beer

Thank you. I will be adding it to my shopping list for this weekend.

SN Celebration. SN is just a good go to brewery. Also picked up some Breckenridge Christmas Ale. I am really looking forward to Great Lakes Christmas Ale.

Great Divide Hibernation English Style Olde Ale. I usually like this beer but I am getting a smell/taste that reminds me of stomach acid/throw up. Maybe it just needs some time.

I think I would give that up.

You are talking to a guy that drank a whole 750ml bottle of Littlemill 8yo that tasted like lemon pledge and envelope glue (at least by the end of the bottle it was more like rotten lemons then lemon pledge). Though that was over about 2 years.

Founders Backwoods Bastard.

N: Scotch, bourbon, maple, toffee, caramel, vanilla, oak. After a few seconds I get a massive blast of licorice.
P: licorice, bourbon, peaty scotch, toffee and caramel. Almost no straight "oak" comes through.
F: Licorice and vanilla. Some toffee and caramel as well.

Overall a very good to great beer. Not as much oak as I expected and a little thinner then expected. Also the licorice surprised me. Really enjoyable and really sweet. Alcohol is well hidden. If you find it in the $12-14 range for a 4 pack it is worth it.

ETA: As it warms the oak comes through more.

So I am giving a final review on the Hirsch.... I would give it a 2/5. It would be a great drink for a beginner just getting into tasting. It has a good front end but it goes away quickly and there is very little finish. Not subtle, no real notes at all. It's more expensive than the Willlet but the Willet crushes this.

I guess I need to try some of the other A.H.Hirsch Bourbons.

My guy I buy from told me about Amador, which is finished in Cabernet Sav. wine casks from Napa. Said it was excellent.

I had Angels Envy which is aged in port barrels but I did not care for that.

Rough but not shocking if it is better on the rocks then neat. I found Angels Envy to be ok-above average but I don't get the love for it.

Lagavulin 16yo for me right now.

How is it? Founders just started distributing in South Dakota and I think they have this one here but haven't seen it yet.

Lotta good beers from Founders, have fun! Breakfast stout is top of my list from Founders. Some others you might like All Day IPA, Dirty Bastard, KBS if you can find it, Harvest ale, and probably a few more I'm forgetting (CBS notwithstanding )

Laphroaig 10 yo for me.

Founders does have many great beers. I love the Porter. Stouts are great. IPA's aren't anything special but I'd definitely give most Founders beers you come across a try.

I'm having a Founders Breakfast Stout right now. For Breakfast!
