So is it basically a known fact that William and tMiB are the same person?

My theory:

William and Dolores hang out and run around together until Dolores is shot and killed by Logan. The Heads of Westworld will reconfigure her after they find out that she is one of the hosts that can 'remember'.

Logan and Will are part of some big time company where Logan and his father are able to pay Westworld to keep Will there for life unless he can find the center of the maze. Meaning, tMiB and William are the same person.

Notice how tMiB knows where to find the pieces of 'puzzle'? It's because he has tried 100s of times to reach the center but has failed each time. Ala, finding exactly where Lawrence is, how to easily convince Teddy into following him. He knows Lawrence from the first time they meant when he was William.

There are about a thousand more things going on in this show and a ton more to come but this is what I put together in my head the past two episodes.

I think a lot of this seems to be a pretty good theory accept for the bolded, unless I'm misunderstanding you. I don't believe tMIB has been in the park the entire time. Considering that the one gentlemen recognized his older self. I'd imagine that he probably leaves the park to tend to his real life, and then continuously comes back to give it another try. Otherwise, how would people recognize him, when he is 20+ years older, and they are 20+ years his junior? Meaning, if he's been in the park this entire time, the guy that recognized him ,would've been a child when he started going to the park and more than likely, wouldn't have recognized him this many years later.

Do you have a particular favorite fan site(s)? I have my own theories, but might be intersted in seeing what others are saying.

My bad, just realized that I skipped over this multiple times. Reddit after every show and then just random google searches for the top few articles that come up, after each episode. Ny Times, variety, etc. I may have misstated before but outside of Reddit, there isn't one particular site I necessarily go back to. I just like to see as much of the crazy stuff that people come up with, as I can. With this show, it makes it fun. Some of it is pretty wild.

Haven't read all of them yet, but I'm hearing a lot of buzz from folks. A buddy and I were talking, and both of us questioned the Arnold is Bernard and other things. We also questioned if Ford would build himself at some point.

Good point. I had the feeling at the very beginning of the series that the park can also be like a Truman Show and people are constantly being taped for the entertainment of the outside world. tMIB would be one of the people that is also being watched. But you're right though because he did mention that going to the park was his "vacation".

I didn't watch the latest episode so as of now I know that they haven't hinted to something like this going on.

Did anyone notice that in the scene where MiB takes Dolores in the barn to "rape" her...he might not have raped her and simply removed her scalp which he showed to that guy in the village?? Same color hair and he was drawing out his knife when he asked her to get reacquainted?

I think he removed her scalp and she's a piece of the puzzle

The Internet eviscerated this show. Reddit predicted literally everything, including Arnold's last name being Weber (Arnold Weber = Bernard Lowe anagram).

I can't look at Reddit during season 2. It's going to ruin it all again.

Yeah, I hear you on maybe avoiding the Internet for season 2.

I mean, I like that it is theoretically possible to guess where the writers are going. It's just good writing to leave signposts. If, as a viewer, you get to the end and find that it was truly totally unpredictable, you feel duped or cheated or have a sense of whiplash. For a viewer, the end has to feel like it came from somewhere, or that the show was building to that end, even if you weren't able to perceive where it was going or what it was building toward at the time of viewing the individual episodes; or else it's unsatisfying. I think a lot of people don't realize this. They feel like a show is a failure if viewers can guess where it is going, when really the opposite is closer to the truth.

But I don't know if I like personally knowing where the show is going. I might try to stay in the dark next time by avoiding the Internet and avoiding second viewings of episodes.

HBO has done it again. I love this show. Everything is confirmed. Hopkins was amazing, you don't really expect less than that from him but still, amazing performance. Love Ed Harris, I hope he'll be back next season.

The possibilities next season are huge. Good stuff. Will miss Hopkins but I would have been surprised if someone like him signed up for a series long term. I'm with you, hoping Harris is back. Love the acting overall of the entire cast.

I thought about that, but I just don't see it. I think he would see it as beneath him to recreate himself. But who knows. Maybe he already created himself and has been priming him for years with pain and sorrow??? I'd certainly like to be wrong, I just don't see him being a "series" kinda guy.

Great finale. Absolutely avoiding reddit next season.

I am not sure where they go from here. The "Samurai* World" twist was pretty awesome, but I can't see them doing a season in a new world just yet.

The possibilities are definitely endless but I can't even speculate as to what is going to happen from here.

Yeah, I think next season will focus on the hosts trying to define and govern themselves. Jonathan Nolan said something in the commentary about the next season being defined by "chaos" or something along those lines.

But yeah, the Samurai World twist was awesome. Apparently in the original Michael Crichton Westworld movie, there were also Medieval World and Roman World parks. I wonder if a subsequent season might show us self-aware hosts like Maeve going from Westworld to one of the other parks to sort of "liberate" the robots there. A lot of people seem to be high on that prospect based on the fact that the note Maeve received from Felix told Maeve that her daughter's location was somewhere in "Park 1," which suggests that other parks are already established.
