Watch Kizer go HAM and kick start a great year and another QB drama filled off season, lol.

Not feeling it. Really want to be wrong and would cheer my brains out if I a tally had a free Saturday to watch, but I think they take us 42-28.

that is what I'm thinking as well. actually I think we will see both QBs this year, and both will have ups and downs, but both will look good down the stretch.

Gunna be tough to keep GT under 40 pts IMO

If we can get 40 before GT, we win.

24-46 GT and NDs hopes of playoffs are gone.

If we have a hard time stopping Virginia, GT will roll us. Our only hope is scoring a ton, and I don't see that happening.

Love ND, Love this team--but, I don't think we are a top 15 team this year. And losing Zaire, it will be even tougher. Top 25 for sure, but right now we are over ranked. And I am scared that GT will expose us in a huge way. We have serious issues with teams like GT. We may get run over.

Hope not, but watching the Virginia Game our defense isn't as good as I thought it was.

Zero faith in BVG right now. Only reason I have us losing by less than 10 is it being a home game and I have all the faith in the world in our offense to hang in there. Would be ecstatic to be proven wrong...

You bunch of Nancy boys. Who did GT put those numbers up against? That's right, Alcorn St. and Tulane. Irish defense shows its pride and slows the Ramblin' Wreck down to a slow walk. Irish run for 200 yards and Kizer looks like a three year starter. Irish win and calls for BK's head cease. Well they don't cease, but Irish win!

I agree with this 100%. Kizer looked good in a big spot I know it was against a bad Virginia team. He will be fine against GT. BVG could pack his bags for all I care.

Week 3 Prediction Poll (Georgia Tech @ ND)

It's such a weird year. We are 2-0, ranked in the top 10, and are the only team that has played/beaten two FBS teams.

And here were are so early in the season doubting BK, the defense, and BVG. It's weird because I feel the same way. I will say that I didn't feel great about the UVA game anyway. Historically, ND always comes out flat after playing a huge prime time game against a premiere/blue blood opponent. I'm going to chalk UVA to one of those flat performance road games and move on. The season is too short to doubt the unknown. Just enjoy 2-0, hope the boys regroup and play with the fire they had vs Texas this week.

I'm going Irish 31-24

What gives you guys confidence that ND can stop GT's triple-option enough to get a win? Serious question, not calling anyone out or being a d!ck. I would love for your beliefs to sway my opinion on what I think will be a rough day for ND.

I think there's only one way ND wins this game and that's by a +2 turnover margin and red zone TD conversion rate of at least 75%.

I don't see both happening so I think ND loses by a touchdown.

Do you think we see more Nyles Morgan this week? I think it's imperative to have your bigger, more athletic LB in there to help stop the run. Figure out s way to play that guy. He can be so disruptive. I love Schmidt, but the guy is just a step too damn slow.

I'm pretty sure the entire team and coaching staff have been getting ready for this game

This is it.

It went perfectly against Texas and terribly against Virginia. None of that matters.

This game is what UND has been paying incredible amounts of money for.

This is the test. Judge us Saturday.

ND 4 GT 2

I love how everyone hates Schmidt now.

Suck it. He gets us our game winning safety.

That's my prediction.

He has a total of 1/2 tackles for loss in his career at ND, so the odds are against it.

Nyles had 3.5 TFL in like 4 games last year FWIW.

Good thing they don't play DL.

I don't get the Schmidt hate. His football intelligence is unmatched on this squad. For a MLB that's far more important than TFLs. Plus it's not like he's a liability out there, at least any more than Morgan would be.

I'm not mad at Schmidt for being out there, I'm mad that in year 2 BVG's scheme is still so difficult that we have to put a 'coach' out on the field who's physically at a disadvantage against everyone we play outside of maybe Temple, Navy, and Massachussettes. Joe Schmidt is not a good MLB, we just need him for some reason because no one else can figure out how to 'run' the defense. He's constantly late to the angle, gets zero push, and doesn't have a disruptive bone in his body. I'm not going to write him a letter telling him this, but it's true and I hope we can speak candidly on this site about it.

FWIW, Coach Driskel will never overtly bash a player, but he basically says Joe sucks at football if you read between the lines. Nyles should be playing and I put it on BVG's scheme that he's not.

All of this is true. But there's a large majority of ND fans on this site that don't tolerate any "negative" commentary about any players or coaches so you might as well muzzle yourself now.

No question Joe had a pretty poor performance on Saturday. His communication in this system is invaluable though. Obviously, if Morgan would have that down already, he would be starting instead of Joe. I like to believe that it is not the case. I think Joe is going to have a much needed strong performance against Georgia Tech.

I'd be sceptical that Joe plays as much this week as he would normally. You are gonna need your MLB going downhill and slamming the fullback pretty much all day. Not sure Joe is the guy for this task.

The game's on NBC, which makes me question this.

BUT, it's also a top-10 matchup. Alabama/Ole Miss appears to be an underwhelming choice for Gameday. Who knows.

ND-Stanford was on CGD before eventhough it was aired on NBC though. I'd be sceptical of this and if it were true im guessing its because of the stadium construction work

Well, Bob Elliot has been solely focusing on triple option offenses for the past off season.

Not that I feel any more or less confidence, but at least Kelly is trying something different by using Elliot as an "analyst" instead of a coach.

Yea, I was thinking about that. Then again, this is assignment football. I think he might be out there just make sure everyone stays on keys. Jaylon could probably step up there, but I would rather we let him fly and not worry about all that. We'll see I guess.

What makes you think that GT's offense is going to be as good as last years? At this point, we know a sizable amount about ND but know nothing about GT. They had plenty of question marks coming into this year and they still have those question marks because they have played nobody.

I am certain they have wrinkles for this game, but there is a part of me that thinks they have not seen anything like ND yet and if there is one thing you can say about PJ's teams at Navy and GT is that they usually get better as the years rolls on. I don't think we get their best shot when you look back in December.

Going into the year I thought Virginia was going to be the more difficult game for ND (trap game) and I still think mentally that is the case. If Malik was in, I would be saying ND by 10, without him, I say ND by 4.
