I am pretty sure Gene Chizik is the head coach of Auburn. I never head of an offense of coordinator being given the credit for a TEAM to win the national championship. You must have forgot too, they had a pretty good defense that kept them in games last year. The offense didn't win them all.

Chizik had a pathetic record at Iowa State. And their defense was suspect last year. Spectacular plays by Nick Fairley kept them close.

But Chizik is nothing without Malzahn. Malzahn is clearly the key to their success. Take him away and they lose big time.

As I said - Auburn's defense is pathetic. And their offensive players aren't that good either. They should have lost that game. However they were able to score two quick touchdowns in the last 2 minutes to pull it out. Malzahn's schemes are based on speed and quick attacks.

If they didn't have Malzahn and those 20 extra points per game, Auburn would be 0-2 and would be in serious danger of a winless season.

With Malzahn they will manage a winning record. You add 20 points to Notre Dame's totals and we're 2-0.

You are right, Malzahn's presence immediately eliminates 10 turnovers in two games and adds 20 points per game while having no other effect.
