This Michigan team probably doesn’t win in a 12 team playoff where a healthy Georgia team doesn’t make it. Shit idk if they beat OSU on a neutral field considering it went to the wire at home against them.

This year was the perfect storm of UGA, Bama, and OSU breaking in new QBs. UGA had injuries in the SEC championship that kept them out. Clemson has fallen off. And Bama had more holes than usual as well.

It was a perfect year for fresh blood, and it just ended up being Michigan instead of UT or Washington, primarily bc of Harbaugh.

This type of year isn’t going to be the norm, especially with how UGA, Bama, and OSU continue to pull in talent. Gross how it lined up for them.
Michigan and Washington were the 2 best teams in the sport, Michigan got it done. NIL and the portal have completely changed the calculus in CFB. You can build an elite team with good HS recruiting and augmenting through the portal. 12 team CFP helps the little guy more than it hurts FWIW.

This was more just alluding to the fact that Oklahoma made the playoffs I believe 4 times and never won a game once there.

Stoops won one on 2000, which isn't really relevant to a discussion of the playoff
4 times isn't really that many times.

Yeah to that point, Oklahoma probably has 2-3 teams in their CFP run that win the title this year. They just played better teams (see LSU).

I'm afraid you're mistaken. You think Auburn fans care about their 2010 NC being tainted over having bought Cam? They couldn't care less. Think USC cares about their last NC being tainted because of cheating? No. Michigan fans won't care. Period.
The problem is that all we know is that Cecil Rogers tried to land Newton in Starkville for 180K.

I don't recall there ever being any evidence presented that Auburn did the same.

Now, keep in mind, it wouldn't in the least shock me if they did offer that kind of money, but that wasn't apparent.

There is VERY damning evidence about the extent of Michigan's cheating. That's the key difference here. There's a lot more evidence to condemn Michigan for their cheating than there was with Auburn in 2010.

It's literally 40% of the playoffs that have happened. I don't really understand why you're arguing this - they've made it more than Michigan has. But it just proves that luck of the draw matters - they played teams that easily would have run away with it this year

Never said luck didn't matter.

I don’t know… I think things going open up. All teams will play looser during the year with not so much pressure to go 13-0 or 12-1 and win every big game during the season. There can even be an occasional 2008 Giants team that wins it all!

Unfortunately, tonight Penix played more like he did at IU than the way he did most of this year. Really bad misses. SuM got in his head.

Dillon Johnson's injury is a big concern for me. Just checked and he's expected to play. As much as Penix and the receivers deserve all the praise Washington gave up yards on the ground against Texas so I'll look for Corum and Edwards to have a game. Rome Odunze vs Will Johnson and Polk vs Sainristill is the matchup to look for. Washington's OL is going to have to hold up against the Michigan DL because the receivers are going to be tested. Washington is healthy in the backend finally but Michigan doesn't exactly air it out, which kind of negates Muhammad and Trice. Don't ban me but I would assume Michigan runs the ball, Corum has a big day (Gets MVP) and Michigan gets the win.

This....

UGA had their shot and tripped up. So it goes. Sucks for them, but they had a hell of a run.

I don't know if this Michigan team would win a 12 team playoff, but I hope that a Notre Dame team built similarly to it can.

Bully ball, don't turn it over, play stout defense.

Penix shit the bed. They had their opportunities and missed almost all of them with the help of the refs too

Penix didn't make the plays he made against Texas and in both Oregon games. That's why they got beat.

Yes, the holding non calls were incredibly egregious at times. Not why Washington lost, but it was very poor and was obvious at times to anyone with a television. Michigan's open field tackling, however, was superb.

Parts of Washington's defense looked Bartolo Colon slow once Corum broke into the second level at times. Slooooooow.

I would rather win it by any means necessary and as long as we’re unwilling to do that it will never happen
Truth, as long as the NCAA isn’t going to do anything about the SEC cheaters or Meatchicken ND is going to have to join them to win. At least everyone can drop bags now so that at least levels some of the playing field, but Michigan didn’t invent sign stealing and they won’t be the last.

Only because another institution hired a private investigation agency to go out and spy on another institution. Man if anybody would have done that over the past decade to Alabama, Georgia, Auburn, Florida, OSU we would have mountains of evidence of cheating.

Final AP poll… Irish14th and they put UGA 4th above Bama. Not that it really matters beside #1!

Pretty sure federal cyber laws were broken and nobody is gonna get taken to pound town prison and punished by FBI, let’s be real. Michigan can suck a dick but hacking their shit is bullshit.

Is 5 DBs no longer the way for defenses to go?
The last three championships have been one by teams without great QBs and passing games. Maybe ND needs to go back to more 3 LBs.
