Wearesc.com has a thread stating that LB Jordan Campbell is transferring from USC. Not a terrible loss because he was in Kiffin's doghouse from the get-go, even getting suspended for a bit from all team activities. Sucks for him because he has 2 huge USC tatoos LOL.

A poster who said this was coming last week is now saying that 3 other players are going to transfer: TJ Bryant, and WRs Brandon Carswell and Travon Patterson. Carswell and Patterson aren't likely to see much time, so that's why they could be leaving, and that might not hurt SC either. But losing Bryant, who did not have a good spring but was still listed as a co-starter, would really hurt their depth as their secondary is already thin. Bryant is leaving, the poster says, because he HATES Lame Kiffin (Kiffy switched his jersey number b/c he wasn't playing well enough to earn using that number; I think it was #1 but don't hold me to that).

Might not have anything to do with ND, some might say, but they are our biggest rival and we play them, and them losing players hurts their depth and that puts a big smile on my face. Remember, their lack of depth killed them last year as they wore down big time. And with the 75 scholly limit coming up and them being able to only fill their classes with 15 schollies each year, this has to hurt, I would think, although I'll have to look into that further (some are saying this actually helps them).

I can take a wild guess where he would transfer to.

That's right. I'll try to get info, but I doubt I get any exclusive news before Friday, either way, he's not coming to ND. I wish Starling could transfer without sitting.

Dito. And Jelani Jenkins.... thats just a pipe dream though since Urban has frat girls feeding him grapes in bikinis...

Grapes in bikinis ... now there's an interesting image! Pears in thongs? Peaches in body clinging speedos?

Thanks for the chuckle.

USC knows it will have it tough recruiting in the future, but plans to 'Fight On' - ESPN

USC fights on despite sanctions

Players sticking with USC despite penalties; coaches confident about recruiting

By Jamie Newberg
ESPN Recruiting

"Fight On" is a long standing motto for the USC Trojans.
Southern Cal will fall back on its battle cry often in the months and years ahead. After learning its NCAA fate earlier on Thursday, Trojans coach Lane Kiffin and his staff certainly have their work cut out them, especially in the upcoming recruiting wars.
USC has a two-year bowl ban and, even worse, the loss of 30 scholarships over the next three years. While USC has dominated on the recruiting front both out West and nationally and annually posts top 10 classes, this is an enormous hurdle to overcome.
"The reason we are here is that we have the best staff in America," said Ed Orgeron, USC assistant head coach and one of the nation's top recruiters. "We are equipped to go out and get the best players in the nation for the best university. We will come out of this strong. Everything stays the same and we won't change anything. The numbers may change, but it won't change the fact that we are going after the best in recruiting."

...

So on the surface, things appear to be in good standing for the Trojans with their commitments.
As for those still considering USC, it might be too early to tell.

...

Momentum could be the key word here. If Kiffin and his staff can keep their already committed players and reel in top prospects at their need areas of offensive lineman, linebacker and defensive back, then everything should be OK for the Trojans.
But don't let this positive reaction fool you, because recruiting is a cutthroat game. Negative recruiting is a reality, and when push comes to shove and things get dicey, USC will get slammed by its opposition for these upper echelon kids.
"Hey, we will face it head on," Orgeron said. "Closure will help us and we will deal with it. We have a saying here at USC -- 'Fight on!' We will remain strong and positive and in the end this will turn into a great story for us."

Orgeron echoes Mike Garrett

In addtion to Markeith Ambles loving USC for the academics, Nickell Robey will be staying at Probation U.

Per Chip Towers, AJC
6/15
USC cornerback signee Nickell Robey, who was committed to the Georgia Bulldogs until two days before national signing day, also plans to stick with the Trojans. “That’s what he tells me,” said Brad Metheny, Robey’s coach at Frostproof (Fla.) High.

damn dshans! you obviously caught me posting things late at night!

sorority girls wearing bikinis and feeding him grapes, not husky frat girls with grapes stored in bikinis running rampant around Florida.

....i have tried the peach in the speedo though.. it doesnt work with the ladies and ends up making a mess and looking like i got too excited on my bike.

Sentrell Henderson Update

Sentrell Henderson Update

There is a thread that was just started on wearesc.com that says that Sentrell wrote on a Miami recruit's facebook that he (sentrell) needs to go ahead and hurry up and pick a school so he can 'get on with dat to' (I don't speak teeneager, but I think I got the gist of it.?.)

Then this from a Miami Website:

Nothing is official right now, but rumors are swirling the talented offensive tackle from Minnesota may be going to prep school. Henderson originally signed to play for the Trojans, but he may be having second thoughts now that sanctions have been passed down on USC.

Henderon’s recruiting visits were well publicized by the media. When Seantrel visisted the Hurricanes, he supposedly received a limo ride and a personal meeting with Bryant McKinnie his favorite player. Seantrel chose USC over Miami and Ohio State back in March. He may be rethinking his decison now. Stay tuned to HSN for any updates.
Music to my ears!

(And no, I don't want that kid and his rapping dad anywhere near ND. He's a Reggie Bush/Joe McKnight type headache I'd rather deal without. But glad he ain't (possibly) going to U$C!)

Completely agree. Keep that joke away from ND.

It's a shame BK can't call Chris Galippo... who grew up loving ND and WANTED TO COME HERE until CW "dissed him" during Jimmy Clausen's visit and state ND wants hlm if he's willing... I think I'd jump.

100% agree... that kid was a beast in high school, and actually had a good head on his shoulders. remember watching him in the Army all American game and he was going nuts. was in on every play while in on defense.... won the MVP with grace and humility... has had some bad luck at USC or he would prolly already be an all american, but i think phil steele listed him as a 2nd or 3rd teamer in his magazine... hope kelly gets in contact, but its probably doubtful.

First Transfer with an asterisk

First Transfer with an asterisk

Jarvis Jones transfers from Southern Cal to UGA.

LB Jarvis Jones says he plans to redshirt at Georgia | AJC College Sports Recruiting

"I'm going to shut everything down. I'm definitely a Georgia Bulldog now. I'm not looking for any attention and going all over the place like I did last time. This is home. I'm good."

...

“I’m redshirting no matter what,” said Jones, speaking by telephone late Tuesday as he remained in Athens for a second night. “I’m going to sit out the season and get my body right.”

Jones sustained a neck injury while having a great year as a freshman LB for the Trojans. He missed the last 1/3 of the season and was not cleared by Southern Cal doctors for Spring Ball. UGA doc now say he's good to go. But as he was an underclassman he doesn't qualify for an NCAA Probation Waiver for this transfer. He'll have to sit out a year as is required for regular NCAA Div 1 transfer.

This is a hit to Kiffin and company.

I always kind of figured that Kiffin was temporary fix. "We're being hit with sanctions? We'll just hire Kiffin and blame the program crashing and burning on him in 3-4 years."

Michigan down, USC down.. Man, now if we could only beat Navy.

We still have a long way to go to be back.

Actually, BK can call Gallipo; he's a junior and he can be recruited by anyone in the country other than a PAC 10 school (per Pac 10 rules that they just announced after the sanctions). It's on BK to make that call...

One caveat to any potential transfer to ND.

Have they taken a course load comparable to ND students?

I don't see ND Admissions opening the doors for Ballroom Dancing majors or wherever Southern Cal hides their football "students" these days.

There may be some true students on their football team but I doubt there's many.

Galippo cant stay on the field, he is like Brittle Bynum of the Lakers, hurt all the damn time. I would want him just because USC is hurting at LB, one less at that position puts them further in trouble at that LB position.

It still wouldn't hurt to have him on the team.
