So you're saying it will be Brian Kelly and his fah-muh-lee?I don’t think they hire another “outsider”
Next coach will have a southern drawl

I am not sure why he would. He's not a SoCal guy. Dude is from small town South Dakota.DeBoer would do it in a heartbeat imo. I think he wants out of Tuscaloosa.
Because he’s in a pressure cooker where nothing hell ever do will be good enough because he’s following literally the greatest to ever do it. He can go to USC be under why less pressure and not live in a bubble.I am not sure why he would. He's not a SoCal guy. Dude is from small town South Dakota.
And there ain't no LSU sitting out there that is going to take him off of their hands.Regardless of what actually happens, I do love the SC messageboard posters that are wishcasting Riley into voluntary quitting his job because "reputational damage" or "living in a town where everyone hates you". LOL, nobody's giving up $70 mil for those reasons.
True. LA has too many distractions to get psycho about college football the way an SEC fanbase does. It’s a pro sports town.Because he’s in a pressure cooker where nothing hell ever do will be good enough because he’s following literally the greatest to ever do it. According to Brice’s reporting, an individual familiar with Riley’s contract estimates that USC would owe approximately $57 million if the university decided to terminate his contract. However, the report also indicates that a potential contract provision could allow Riley to leave USC without owing a buyout.
I get a chuckle out of a USC team sitting at 6-2 and looking to part ways with their coach because they know he's about to go 1-3 to end the season and miss the playoffs...again.....even after dropping ND.
Agreed. if SC hasn’t quit by the IU game, I can’t wait to see Maiava & WR vs Haines D. I’m tempted to pick them in an “upset” over OSU w/ Sayin out, OSU D not as elite as last year & being on west coast. Although, tv may have bailed OSU out w/ the start time. With that said, I'm tempted to hedge because IU w/ Hoover, OSU w/o Sayin, and UCLA w/o Nico SHOULD BE games that are there for the taking.
$57M is a hell of a lot of money. No chance he walks away from that...

ND should support UCLA football financial if needed. Kinda like France support the US in the Revolutionary War. Enemy of our enemy kind of thing. Don't let him leave to USC. Let them hire Reggie Bush or somethingUCLA has enough for Chesney to be 7-0 right now. Does anyone think he won't get more support if he takes them to the playoff?

Call me crazy, but I'll root for SC over IU this year...USC is beating iu

It's kinda early, no?UCLA isn’t a cushy job. It’s under resourced, under supported, under everything. He doesn’t have all the goods he could ask for. Will that change? I suppose it could, but I haven’t seen any indication they plan to go IU mode.
I can't stand Cignetti or IU. But rooting for USC here is a bridge too far.SC is burning anyway, might as well move IU out of the top-10 in a year where I'll get to enjoy at least two additional SC losses.
Cautious, yes, but they also need to make sure they have top candidates lined up via back channels. Cignetti and Freeman leveraged all those firings to be able to remain in place. It was a unique situation. PSU, Florida, LSU....I'm not sure anyone got their first, second or maybe even third choice.Who do they hire if they can Lincoln? It's not going to be Chesney. The PSU debacle last year makes me wonder whether schools are going to be more cautious about letting established coaches go.
