What do you mean by “combat experience”? It’s my understanding he was in the press corp. Here’s a direct quote from an article he wrote.

Not really. The Teamsters were big on Reagan when he was governor of California and allowed local growers to use teamsters to try to break strikes (often violently) by the United Farmworkers. They also were big on Nixon.

Really strange that the GOP is trying to suck up to unions in a State where they have consistently attacked and undermined them for the last 10 years.

Kamala is quite literally the definition of a centrist. No strong opinions on anything other than just keeping the status quo going. Her entire history is antithetical to being anything other than in the center.

I may be wrong, but didn't she say something a couple months back about the charges being on shaky legal ground, but wasn't going to rule right away so she could have time to review and research?

The most generous read on Vance is that he’s playing a bit. He was a completely different guy before he wanted to run for Senate, and then overnight invented a new persona. That’s why I think he’s unpopular on some levels is because people can collectively sniff out “inauthentic” at a surprisingly good clip (it’s also why Kamala Harris and Hillary Clinton are unpopular but people like Bill Clinton and Michelle Obama are not).

Vance spent his entire life positioned one way, and then he decided to run for senate funded by Peter Thiel and went a different way. And it worked, credit to him, and now he’s likely to be VP. So if he’s a smart guy playing to what he thinks will win it tracks on multiple levels.

Money and promises will do that to a lot of politicians.

Seems to me that if you're with some platoons reporting on the fighting going on around you, that's combat experience. No he wasn't shooting at anyone, but a medic doesn't either and I would classify that as combat experience.

Looking at his history I would agree. Today though, I wouldn't classify Biden's spending spree or position on immigration as a centrist.

Kamala's doesn't have an opinion now because she's on the big stage and has probably been told to keep her mouth. Listening to her talk, I'm not sure she is smart enough to have an opinion on anything.

Using that definition I have “combat” experience and I’ve never served in the military. Lol.

Vance doesn't really swing any voters to Trump that he doesn't already have. Pence helped give Trump Evangelicals.

He's not going to upstage Trump, he'll be a yes man to him and ultimately he's going to oversee the implementation of Project 2025. That's all this really is. Vance has the savvy and know how to implement something like that because Trump really doesn't give a shit.

Vance is also so thirsty for power he'd probably fuck himself over if it meant gaining something. He makes Ted Cruz look like he's pensive.
