That's great! Why do you have a problem with senior military members being held to a high standard? How do you tell a 20-year-old private or a 35-year-old major he should be fit if you can't pass a physical fitness test yourself? You lead by example.

It's been the rule for awhile. Plus, the standards for old people are way lighter. This is nothing new, just him calling people fat.

Damn, he used the term "Chairborne" Ranger. Freaking hilarious. Hitting the basics with leadership 101 and grooming standards-I can dig it. I can imagine the fat seniors running to their physician for a profile.

These things should not have to be stated.

Waiting for those who have never served to chime in on "Bad" Pete with their dislike. I'd prefer you use "Signal Pete". Yeah, I don't recall hearing they lose their pensions. Skewed reporting or tongue in cheek?

How do you give your patients dietary advice?

My patients aren't part of an organization with standards they're expected to meet.

I heard all of Heggie's speech and your know what, it's their army now and they can run it the way they want, and being physically fit is a good thing, but I bet despite their best efforts, some generals and admirals may not meet what they were essentially calling the BMI requirements even with a good diet and regular exercise, so that's too bad they may need to exit the military when they're in non-combat positions . Definitely need the troops in that kind of shape.

(It's interesting that as Heggie left the auditorium, not one general was clapping. That says a lot.)

Also, I have a problem with this August 20th Secretary of Defense memo that states that troops who need an exemption from shaving their facial hair for longer than a year should get kicked out of the service, but it's known that most shaving waivers are for troops diagnosed with pseudofolliculitis barbae, or PFB, a condition in which hair curls back into the skin after shaving and causes irritation. It's a condition that disproportionately affects black men. Nice way to force out black men in the military (please correct me if I'm misunderstanding this memo).

The big thing I have a problem with re: today's Quantico VA meeting is not with Heggie's speech and new declarations re: PT testing and BMI, but with DJT essentially telling the 800 or so general, admirals, and leaders in his speech afterwards which is essentially that he's going to be sending in NG and the military to Blue cities:

"Last month I signed an Exec Order to create a quick reaction force that can help quell civil disturbances. This is going to be a big thing for people in this room."
"We should use some of the dangerous cities as training ground for our national guard and military because we're going into Chicago soon."
"They're going to go into the cities of the Radical Left: San Francisco, Chicago, New York, Los Angeles; they're very unsafe places.... It's a War from within."
"... It's the Enemy from within and we have to control it before it gets out of control."
"America is under invasion from the Enemy within."
"We're in an invasion from within. No different than a foreign enemy, but more difficult in many ways, because they don't wear uniforms."
"At least when they're wearing a uniform, you can take them out... These people don't have uniforms."

The MF is essentially telling the Generals and Admirals that they will be used to go into cities and apply force to U.S. Citizens and "take them out." WTF.

And he's pressuring them by saying they'll be stripped of their rank (and I'm guessing pension) if they don't comply.

He said in the beg. of his speech: "And if you don't like what I'm saying, you can leave the room. Of course, there goes your rank, there goes your future."

What a shameful President, er I mean Dictator...

1- Service members have to avoid the appearance of being political.
2- It’s already hard to meet recruiting goals, so, this may make it tougher.
3- Supply departments are going to be devastated if the black guys have to shave. Used to be a given that the black guys had no shave papers.
4- I want good generals. You earn a star, who gives a shit how much you run. Don’t get me killed.

You don’t clap in this sort of setting in the military.

And while there are certainly some cases where PFB is real, the amount of service members who fake their razor bumps to get a waiver have abused it far beyond reason. You see all kinds of people with beards that have no business having a no shave chit. We had black service members before the rampant abuse of no shave chits that you see today.

I personally think that a well kept beard is fine, but I don’t make those decisions. I like the royal Navy’s model of allowing beards at the discretion of the Commanding Officer - he gives you two weeks to grow it. If he thinks it looks good you can keep it, if he doesn’t then you can’t have it. Usually on deployment we can grow out beards (to minimize water usage) but we’re under water so nobody has to see all of the atrocious beards that we grow, then we shave before we surface.

Beards are a NoGo with line troops due to the fitment of gasmasks.

There is absolutely no sense in getting political during a gathering such as this-the Military is ideally non-partisan. Trump can't stop himself.

Holy Shit! Sounds like our friend received some heat for this and so had to 1) Lawyer up and 2) Offload the profile and IP address information to "sources" who will release it upon his death or disappearance. Will need to continue to f/u on this.
(He sounds scared!)

Despite what you Vets stated, it appears per this Veteran (David Clayton) that there is a noticeable difference of audience applause for each speaker:

- General Dan Caine, the 22nd Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, got loads of applause
- Heggie, no applause
- DJT, maybe 3-4 Generals clapped
- He states that this will be a Constitutionalists vs. Loyalists battle
- Claims that at least 70% of truths are (Constitutional) Oath Keepers

Yeah, I couldn't see if the requirements have changed since 2016, but I found this:

They need to get a 60 "Satisfactory" to pass. For a male 60-64 that means:

Under 17:14 time for a 1.5 mile run, 14 push-ups in 2 minutes, and 26 sit-ups in 2 minutes. Most of that is certainly not a huge ask at 60 for a military man unless he's got arthritis or health issues. The running should be the only one cutting it close.

[EDIT] Disregard, looks like it has changed for 2025 for Army. It's 2 miles, and some of the others have changed. To get a pass at 60 the 2 mile run needs to be done in under 23:36. One of the other tests is planking for at least 1:10 at age 60.

NDW-I am unable to see the Insta post as it's restricted. I note his comment ref unlawful orders and hope that, as in the past, military leaders follow only lawful orders. The issues in the current atmosphere is you have people following political party line orders, hoping we do not go there. I have not seen any unlawful orders from this administration.

I'm no fan of the administration but still disagree. When Pete gets up there the first time, he says, take your seats. Because they were at attention. You can't clap when you're at attention and he releases them by telling them to take their seats. They were also at attention when Trump came out but he didn't release them, he just started talking.

If someone did an article on Trump's shoes, NDWarrior would complain about that.
