Maybe Singletary's just chasing a better NIL deal but these elite recruits who bail on a program after one semester on campus baffle me. Did he expect to walk in and start on THAT defense? Conversely, does he really not see a path on to the field in the next year or two? And long-term, does he think NIL U will develop him better for Sundays than Georgia?
Have a little patience, my dude.

On Secrant a UGA fan said that there are 3-4 guys ahead of him at the same position. My guess is it's a combination of that and wanting a better NIL deal.

To that point still, literally a true freshman with a few months in the weight room and then spring ball would have every chance to move his way up the depth chart. This unfortunately just screams scared to compete to me sorry.

It’s pretty hilarious to see Wisconsin fans celebrate Green and Williams like they just discovered the forward pass is possible lol

Lol

In fairness, they've got a new coach who did wonders at Cincinnati, a new OC that specializes in creating an explosive downfield passing offense, a few new QBs that will set them up for the present and future, and have continued to add quality starting P5 players to their roster via transfers.

It's quite a lot to celebrate. I'm sure they'll all ..."jump around!" with joy over these developments after their last few seasons.

Wait til they find out the new OC does not need 7 fullbacks on the roster

I mentioned before, he would have been a good pick up form the TP. Apparently, South Carolina didn't accept his transfer (and it says grades/credits are NOT the reason... Strange). It will be interesting to see where he ends up now. Maybe stays at Mizzou but I think they recently already picked up an Edge guy or two, anticipating Trajan was leaving. Trajan Jeffcoat’s hangup with South Carolina not academic-related, source says

Davison was a guy I really wanted them to get involved with late last cycle. I haven't tracked him at all since though that article reads like he had a solid Freshman season.

But, after Harper committed it sounded like the staff was full on S's. However, who knows, maybe that was just for 1 year rental S's. Would it be a different story for a guy with 3 years of eligibility?

Yeah, looks like he will grow into a Safety and has good size and speed to cover the field.

its just like in NCAA football video game when you make promises to recruits and then dont bother to honour any of them

I won something like 12 NC in a row w/ ND. I somehow had enough eligibility that I turned my number 7 and the starting qb role to my son. He has 2 rings so far

I'm sure ND fans would be able to navigate this kind of situation just fine.

From that article: "Power 5 teams have lost an average of 12.5 players to the portal so far during this 2022-23 transfer cycle."

When you put it that way, and look at some of the top-end players who are just shopping themselves around nationally, it's striking how few guys we have lost.

Pyne. Bellamy. Berrong. Ekwonu. Lacey. Joe Wilkins. Pietsch. That's it. Of those only Lacey really feels like a loss. (Pyne did in the moment but only b/c the bowl game and that turned out fine). And we've brought in four starter-caliber grad transfers.

I know, I know, there's some theoretical wave of departures coming, including a few "surprises." (I guess in May?). But so far, we're actually kinda winning in the Portal. Which feels pretty good.

Healthy perspective. I agree. I hope the numbers balance out in similar fashion in the future, too.

TAMU is just a shit show and everyone involved at the upper levels of that program, athletic department and university deserve it.
