Agreed. Would rather roll with our new receivers going forward. If we're going to get a wr transfer, I want a stud. Think our new frosh receivers will make an impact. Eager to have Kaleb Smith commit soon.

I'm really excited about the shiny new toys this staff will (hopefully) inject into the program, but at the same time, I'm concerned with the amount of transfers out of ND as well. Roster turnover is here to stay under these new transfer rules. Play the game, ND, or get left behind.

I believe most of the announcements came after the bowl game last year, except for a small handful. Personally, if I were Freeman, I wouldn't play any guys that have told him they will transfer. Not because of spite, but rather simply to give the practice and game reps to the players that will be here in 2023. Also, if a player who wants to transfer suffers an injury, they are putting themself at a disadvantage.

I mean, there have been a few, but not any loss that put us in a huge uproar. Jack Lamb (if I remember correctly), Michael Young, Ovie Oghoufo Phil Jurkovec, Devin Studstill, George Takacs, and Shayne Simon were all two-deep players at some point, or for the majority, in their careers.

Ovie Oghoufo I believe has been the only one where I felt could have been a good player here. I would say Jurkovec too, and maybe Takacs if not for Michael Mayer's presence during his entire career.

Lamb was buried. Ovie was behind Foskey and Justin A. Maybe plays a Botelho like role, wouldn’t have gotten the PT he gets at Texas. Don’t remember Studstill’s situation off hand, maybe it’s him. Young yeah maybe, fighting eventual transfer Keys probably. Would have been behind Davis, Lenzy, McKinley, Wilkins, Austin/Benny S (Benny transferred in, Austin got hurt). Simon and Takacs graduated pretty sure. Phil yeah, but f him lol.

I know it's important to be right but my point is immediate eligibility just became a thing. I think we will get to a point where we anticipate and expect it. It's naive to just say "Well it didn't happen last year". Years before last year really don't matter in regard to precedence.
