Armstrong claims he's not a transfer candidate:

Bummer. He's one of the few I would have been excited about.
This is great - more parity in CFB the better.
I have a feeling Pyne is going to see some action next season and I'm sure he'll be ready and prepared when that time comes. Give me some McGregor walking please.
He looked pretty good in relief against Wisconsin, and not great (though still better than Coan) against Cinci. But the steadfast refusal of our staff to play him after that leads to me believe: (1) he only looked good to us because opposing teams had no tape on him; (2) he gets picked off all the time in practice; and (3) they knew that if Pyne started getting more snaps, his predictability would become a major liability.
I hope you're right, because we're probably gonna need him. But the staff clearly has no faith in his ability to win football games for us.
They have no faith he could start for us in 2021. I bet he comes in relief or in a timeshare with Buchner if Tyler doesn't progress enough by the fall. Well....that or we get a transfer QB who lights the world on fire with an Irish match.
Hearing rumbles on twitter of Bo Nix to Notre Dame in the transfer portal!? Anyone hear anything substantial?
I'd take Bo Nix...

With their recruiting history compared to this years class, I'm thinking they started drilling a few new wells. Jimbo doesn't suddenly turn into this great orator who can spin some magical prose and convince them College Station is this magical place.

He basically admitted it's the money. He also said something like "We used to pay players. We still do, but we used to, too." They aren't shying away from it down there. Why would they? It's basically all above board now as long as the offer is coming from a booster not the school.
I don't know if they care about breaking the rules. But if they do, all Jimbo has say is, "I can't promise you an NIL deal, but Bobby could and he's waiting outside. I'll let you guys talk and see if you can work something out."
No set of rules and regs is going to slow this down. It's over.
Hard to disagree. I would just focus on restricting transfers. Feels like a lot of coaches and institutions will agree on this one and it's far easier to enforce the transfer rules than it is to stop money from changing hands.
