Let Freeman hire his own staff with a real search that is not under a time-pressured Kabuki Theater like drill.

But he did.

Had we lost it would 100% been on him.

But we didn’t.

I don't think he would have posted on Twitter had they lost.

But we won.

He got off easy. Could you imagine if this guy worked under Nick Saban?

But he doesn’t.

Yes there would have been a headset thrown at him with lots of screaming.

But there wasn’t.

Just absolutely fantasy land in your brain.

Here's part of the quote:

The thing is... an experienced QB probably just eats the ball there and it's fine. Buchner is not that, making his third start ever. Just put him in a bad situation and then Buchner is ultimately responsible for throwing that pass.

And I’m happy that MF could say publicly that we shouldn’t have called that play.

His confidence has grown throughout the season.

I get the modern need to “be all cool on social media” response, but really, does the OC of Notre freaking Dame need to admit that random people on Twitter got in his head? That to me is what this really says about you.
No one is in Tommy's head. He is in everyone's because he's far more successful than everyone bemoaning his playcalling.

He acknowledged he saw the noise, is he supposed to be completely immune to the noise? He's still just a 30 year old dude calling offense for his alma mater. He's not splitting the atom or working on secret clearance projects, he's well within his rights to live in the social media world as much or as little as he prefers.

Tommy is arrogant and hates being second guessed - no matter from whom. He needs to earn his chops at a second program- I don't respect this obvious nepotism. Let Freeman hire his own staff with a real search that is not under a time-pressured Kabuki Theater like drill.

Had we lost it would 100% been on him. He is lucky as fuck that Buchner got the final TD. I don't think he would have posted on Twitter had they lost. He got off easy. Could you imagine if this guy worked under Nick Saban? Yes there would have been a headset thrown at him with lots of screaming.
And that would have been rightly so, as that was a dumb fucking play call at that time of game and needing basically to kill some clock and score ... even just a FG!

If the play goes for a touchdown or TB sees the defender and airmails it into the third row no one bats an eye. Everything went sideways and it’s being beaten to death. Tommy called a damn good game.

The recruits like it and that’s all that really matters.

I guess I disagree. I think there are very very few TR lovers on this forum. There are quite a few people that don't believe TR has been judged fairly and are willing to defend him against the large number of haters on IE who want to blame him for everything.

Yeah, like my furnace that just went out

The trolls on social media are strong, and there are definitely a lot of armchair QBs with both fair and at times horrible takes. It was a funny comment I think.

Yup. Some of the same posters I saw criticizing the throw were overjoyed when Rees schemed Evans open on the game winning TD next drive. Can't have it both ways. It's football, you can't be perfect every play. I liked running it at the goal line too given the circumstances, but in hindsight I can see where SC was expecting the run and selling out for it. Freeman acknowledged we didn't get the look we wanted and should have checked out. Ultimately they found a way to win still, people need to let it go and quit being such negative Nancys.

The play wasn’t there in that Evans wasn’t WIDE open for a rifle of a pass but agree if he lofts it and takes him left it’s Evans TD or nothing. Also they kinda read the fake he could have just thrown the bubble it’s first down you get no gain or 1 at minimum.

TB had him twice. Over the top or if he puts it on the numbers when he breaks to the inside.

If you think Tommy is bad you should try watching the Browns. Have maybe the best back in the league but refuse to use him. It's mind blowing Stefanski could be this bad of a play caller.

Just saw in Sampson’s Athletic article one of Drew’s QB coaches (can’t believe there’s more than one) tweeted out a snide comment during the first quarter. Anyone see it or link it?

The first touchdown was also very similar, and a very nicely schemed play. They brought styles in motion, identified man coverage and as soon as they did you can see Tyler push the WRs out as far wide as they could go to take the DBs with them. 2 seconds later the entire middle of the field is open as a result and Tyler has a walk in TD as soon as he breaks through the line.

Chubb has like the 4th most rushing attempts in the NFL this season and that’s with a much better RB2 in Hunt than the other top 3 have. I think he’s running him enough. Plus they want to get Watson lots of reps in these meaningless games.

I can't watch Cleveland games right now. I have no idea what management is thinking. They've bungled a lot in the last year.

link

Although one of Pyne’s private coaches tweeted “Miss Drew yet?” during the first quarter, by the end no one was talking about the new Arizona State quarterback.

ND could have been shutout in that game and my answer would still be, no I don't miss the G5 smurf.

TB had issues with touch several times during the game, and from what I remember he did during the first couple of games this year. Should be a fairly easy fix that he will need to make next year.
