Where were you when he was putting points on Iowa State, the Okies, and Clemson? Silly argument. We aren't very good right now, but it goes beyond just the OC. Bill Walsh would struggle putting together an offense with the way this OL is in the interior, and we have just one WR to speak of. The Sophomores and Mayer are the only ones executing in this offense.

I'm not ready to kick Harry to the curb after 2 games. He didn't really create this OL mess, but he'll have to be the one to fix it. Quinn stopped the bleeding somewhat 6 games into 2021, I expect Harry to do it in 3...hopefully.

I felt like I’ve been losing my mind watching the actual on-field product and offensive recruiting since Tommy became OC but then hearing ND media and message board users tell me that Tommy was an elite developing OC.

I’m hopeful that not even Priester and Sampson can carry this much water after this loss.

The playcalling and adjustments pale in comparison to the shitshow that is the quarterback room. He has not recruited or developed a single quarterback. Now we are looking at a guy starting games that has the body of a 10th grader. This is gonna get real ugly unless Angeli can somehow step up despite the shitty instruction he is surely getting.

I've defended Rees in the past. This product is indefensible and inexcusable on offense. He has 1 week to figure it out. If (when) he doesn't, he should no longer be the Offensive Coordinator at Notre Dame. Simple as that.

I'd argue that Freeman was a better DC/recruiter (including his time at Cincy) than Rees has been as a OC/recruiter. That, and Rees hasn't really developed a QB at ND and he's now in his 6th year. Coan was already developed when he was at Wisconsin and Book never really showed a great deal of improvement from 2018 to 2020. In fact, I'd argue he stayed the same or got worse.

According to many, he was quite successful during that period. He was in fact in the running to be the HC. Again, why is he being mercilessly criticized (warranted I concede) to the point of demanding his dismissal? Yet Freeman needs time? Just saying.

Rees has been the OC for 3 years at ND, and the QB coach for 6 years now. The QB room is not where it needs to be, and the offense isn't where it needs to be. Both of those things are on him.

Freeman has been the coach for like 9 months so the recruiting part is irrelevant.

On the transfer part, Rees had total control of the offense by all accounts. If he was telling Freeman he didn’t want transfers because he didn’t want to mess with players feelings (could have had Slovis or Daniels but Rees didn’t want to make Buchner sad) then Freeman would have said ok.
