I'll post what I want. Go fuck yourself and your little internet friends that will back you. Just because you're a Monk Malloy doesn't mean that I can give my opinion on the state of the Program. Does anyone every think ND has a chance at winning a National Title again? Under the current state they can't. A lot of you refuse to acknowledge the reason behind it and hide behind the. " We don't do it that way" Holier than thou bullshit. Fuck all of the Monk Malloys.' on here. This site runs like its on windows 95 not sure what happened on here.
Dude you’ve posted something similar too many times to remember. No need to post. We know how you feel.

Kelly leaving for Bama was much more a lateral move for Kelly. Regardless of pay, Bama is a career advancement for Rees. He will be coaching the best of the best and it will attract more NFL jobs.

I disagree. The point is the upper half of the SEC are all better programs than ND because the University has limitations due to academics and no willing to be full-on in NIL and other issues that limit the shot at a Natty. Kelly leaving and Rees leaving are the same thing. If not, it also shows that Rees would rather be with Saban than Freeman, otherwise. None of it is a good look to those ND fans that think ND is a legit Natty type program - which its not due to what I listed above.

I saw Monk Malloy at a grocery store in South Bend yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying. The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter. When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.

Even if Tommy leaves I don't know why people are freaking out, Freeman has brought in a bunch of home run highers. We have the best OL Coach in football, best Special Teams coach, one of the top RB coaches and Stuckey is probally a top 10 WR coach.

Freeman should fire him with cause for getting on that Bama plane. That would be in Seinfeld terms the old "I am breaking up with you" and would be the bomb.
Seriously, in the "real world" you would be fired for going on an interview with a competitor so my guess is by getting on that plane Rees is 100% intent on leaving.

If Rees leaves, we will NOT lose Hartman or Carr. Freeman will get his chance to hire a OC he wants. Im here for it!

What industry do you work in? Where I work people interview for other jobs all the time. No one gets fired for it. Sometimes they even get a raise.

Agree though the Bama PJ is a bad omen for Rees staying at Notre Dame.

True story. When I was a student at ND I was in a somewhat contentious meeting once with Monk. There were boxed lunches, which included a cookie. He pulled the cookie out of his box, looked at it scornfully and kind of tossed it at me.

"Do you want my cookie?"
"Uh, no, I have my own cookie thanks."

I never liked that guy. Could totally see him acting like that at the store.

The way I look at it is that Tommy just wants out of ND for whatever reason. He will have the best offense he ever has had this upcoming year and the school would match any offer from Bama. If he accepts he just wants out.
My only issues with him have been his tendency to outthink himself with some of the play calls especially in the red zone. Seems like he tried to get too cute at times. Also, seemed a little sensitive to criticism. I mean who cares what message boards say. He will face it just as bad at Bama.

How do we know he’s “sensitive to criticism”?

I never liked that guy. Ruined ND football IMO

Saban is the best coach in college football. This doesn't really tell us anything about Freeman or ND.

Freeman will hire a good recruiter. He's proven that. He's never hired an OC (most think Swarbrick told him to keep Tommy) so I don't see how you know he'll hit a home run here. Hope he does; its kind of a big deal.

Tommy Rees objectively should take the Alabama OC job. Even if it’s a scenario where ND offers $3.5M and Bama offers $3M, you take that job. The mentorship of Nick Saban is invaluable. The job you get after that is unbelievable. His list of OC’s is wild. ND simply can’t match that in the slightest. He should absolutely take that job, objectively.

How do you know this?

Agree the optics aren't great but also I suspect Rees is rapidly approaching the point in his career where it's time to step out from the Notre Dame umbrella if he wants to keep growing. If he doesn't go now, he'll go after the '23 season. Alma mater or not he isn't sticking around forever, and he shouldn't.
Would rather he leave for an NFL job or some HC gig than a "lateral" move in college football, but we all kind of know this isn't exactly that, is it?
TBF, I don't think it's simply a "lateral" move to go coach under arguably the GOAT, at least in modern CFB, not to mention the fact it would be roughly a $2-2.5M raise. The second point would be moot if ND really did intend on matching any offer, but I think the launching point alone coaching with Saban speaks for itself.
