- Michael Floyd is meeting with Res Life this upcoming week. Decision should come after. BK on Floyd: "He understands he needs to be educated". Says we can "read between the lines" on that. He is working in a positive direction to make the changes he needs in his life.

- Daniel Smith has a grade 1 hamstring, with a slight tear. Hope is he will be ready for the Spring Game

- Dan Fox and Poz have stepped up well for the injured McDonald

- Expect Ben Koyack to come in and be a player

- The WR are stepping up

- Jonas Gary is still progressing, but needs to learn to run like a 230 pounder, not 180.

- Bennett Jackson has done surprisingly well this spring, really adapting well. Lo Wood has also had a good spring.

- Danny Spong has looked really good at the Dog linebacker position, him and Shembo are in a heated battle for the position. They are looking for Filer to find his niche somewhere

- At Cat, Fleming has looked great, and Ishaq is in the mix to play. They have stripped things down for him, to prevent "paralysis by analysis", but will turn him loose

- Hendrix got some first team reps today, along with Crist and Rees

Some video from today:

Notre Dame worked some special teams drills into the early portions Friday’s practice, giving early enrollee Kyle Brindza a chance to flex his leg on field goals. Check out highlights of Notre Dame’s newest specialist, plus get a look at the Irish offense working on some new fundamentals along with the offensive line getting physical in the trenches.

BK also confirmed today that we will be wearing throwback uniforms for the Michigan game.

Hamstrings again? Sheesh.

The healthy WRs are sure going to get a lot of reps.

If Theo Riddick stays healthy, he could have an incredible season. He'll be getting a boatload of touches.

Not critcizing here. just a simple question...where did the koyack thing come from? He isn't an EE...I'd love to hear it, just surprised because he is still in high school. last I read he was bulking up quickly

I've seen us using a lot of option plays in the practice vids so far. Will this be used more than last year? We may add a new element to the offense.

I wonder if it would be done by Hendrix/Golson or if they'd have Crist run it too??

Some of Kelly's Quotes:

On who picked up the leadership role in Floyd's absence:
"We've got a number of them, actually, who have picked up the leadership role for us. I think every one of our offensive linemen brings that every single day. As a unit, as a group, we're getting that group energy with our offensive line. They're in better shape, their work volume is better. Cierre Wood has been outstanding. And I would look toward Theo Riddick and Tyler Eifert as guys that have set a great example."

On Anthony McDonald's injury absence:
"Kendall Moore is the beneficiary of that, and Justin Utupo. They're getting a lot of work as young kids. They're getting a great deal of work there and a lot of reps. I'd say (Dan) Fox is probably the guy who has really made great progress and has put himself in position to be in that rotation. And Carlo (Calabrese) is now moving between Will and Mike, kind of playing both those positions and cross-training. It's just opened it up. (David Posluzny) has had a pretty good spring as well – he's stronger, more physical and able to step in there and give us some quality reps."

On defensive standouts so far:
"Danny Spond probably would be singularly the one guy that has been very impressive at the Drop (linebacker) position. Plays with heavy hands, very good in the pass game. I'd say those two guys on the defensive side of the ball have stood out to me."

Jonas Gray looks to be the best blocking back we have at the moment.

In the B&G video, anyone notice the second D line that runs in. Filer, KLM, Shembo and Fleming.

Also Kelly's comment of finding a place for Filer to make an impact (something along those lines) I really hope they find him a place because we have glimpses of what he can do.

Filer to RB. Bam. I just solved our RB depth problem and how to get Filer's athleticism on the field in 11 characters. You're welcome America.
