There are obviously some problems over at 'Bama but the "whitey is evil" angle is complete BS in this case. I wonder how many white girls were ever admitted into Alpha Kappa Alpha.

"On January 15, 1908, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority became the first Greek-lettered organization established in the United States by and for Black women."

So the "white" sororities have some racist alumnae and that becomes a national news story in Time Magazine. The "black" sororities have racism embedded in their charter and nobody cares whatsoever. Can we please either choose to go after EVERYONE or NO ONE? Singling out one side of a two-way street is poor journalism. They're ALL screwed up down there.

At my university in the mid 80's, our fraternities and sororities were segregated to a degree. There were very few African American's in fraternities and zero that I recall in any of the "white" sororities. The African American fraternities and sororities were completely segregated. And they segregated themselves from the Greek council and all university sponsored Greek events. They were not interested in any "white" people in their fraternity or sorority.

End of the day I think all of it is a bit petty. But in this "politically correct" BS world we live in I guess somebody has to fan the flames of racism. Otherwise they would have to get real jobs.

During my Freshman year of college (CSUSB) there was a 'black dorm' .... this was in So Cal ten years ago for crying out loud... Most of my friends are/were black and one of my close friends and plenty friends of friends lived in this dorm... More than once I'd go over to visit, hang, party and many of the African American residents would be outwardly and openly hostile towards the fact a white guy was in the dorm... One guy and I got into a physical altercation that my friends had to break up after he said unless I had a pussy then there was no need to hang with a white person...

It is was it is...
