...Oh Boy. I hoped Joepa was simply not capable of dealing with something like this...these allegations make him an active conspirator and framer of a cover-up. It is one thing to simply have the decadence of the times pass you by, and have an octagenerian simply be ill equipped to make the right notifications, and to force the issue...its something entirely different to engage in covering it up.

NCAA has really tried to stay out of the criminal business, and focused on the infractions of players and coaches as relates to their scope...the rules. Look at the SEC teams and the criminal behaviors there...no NCAA sanctions I know of. Not deflecting from the heinous nature of the crime and systematic cover-up...just stating NCAA seems not to have precedent to play here.

Interesting, looks like the original investigators and everyone else up to the Freeh Comission had the event McQuery observed 13 months after it really happened. No wonder all these emails were passed over by the original state prosecution!

And now that it seems old "Joe" used his assistants email, and only signed his name for "emphasis" I am seeing a whole new ugly picture.

I am afraid the NCAA is going to whimp out on this one; but it may not matter. The US Attorney will be through it all.

Perused a little of the findings, Chapter 3: Sandysky's retirement. Officials of Penn State University knew what he did was wrong, that was the reason for the forced retirement. (He knew he wasn't going to be picked as heir apparent over a year earlier.) His buyout was hush money. He was given extra money, though not the amount he asked, with the knowlege he was going to work with adolescents. He was not stopped. This all had board approval, in addition to the top four, two VP's, Paterno, and university president. It couldn't be worse.

If it goes back that far...no big surprise that Sandusky is, and always was a pedophile. Here is the issue. It is becoming a larger and larger conspiracy with each decade we go back, and each hat the guy wore...more specifically, there are more adults who know/knew (some are likely dead now) the guy was a monster, and did nothing. What was their excuse? Only one guy had 400 wins and a legacy he was morally corrupt enough to value over child welfare...what was everyone else's "400 wins" in this deal.

I can't imagine anyone wanting to go to school there. They really need to get their sh!t together, tear down the statue and rename the library.
