Basically no matter what happens, the game will be back in the near future. Riley wins and makes the playoffs, then with expansion on the horizon it doesn't really affect him to reschedule. Riley loses and gets fired, then there is no one against playing the game.Bevacqua interview on the IrishIllustrated podcast.
A few scheduling highlights:
- Believes the Texas series is going to be played, talks with Texas AD regularly about it.
- Confident that the USC series will be back, "Notre Dame and USC should play each other and have to play each other"

It's similar to the USC situation. If Texas misses the playoffs this year, they will surely back out of the ND game. If there is playoff expansion and/or they make the playoffs this year, they will keep it.Bevaqua also said ND - USC wouldn't be canceled, even though it was clear USC wanted to cancel it. From everything Texas is saying, it is clear Texas wants to cancel Texas - ND. Bevaqua said there was permanent damage to the ACC - ND relationship and has now completely walked that back. Take everything he says with a grain of salt.

Fired up when Sampson asked what does Notre Dame Football need and Bevacqua just said “a national championship”
